Time for a Challenge

I haven't done a challenge for a while so this morning I had a browse on my tablet and found 


And here is the sketch


A lovely simple sketch you might think - oh my goodness did I struggle with this one!
I knew what I wanted to do but when it came to it - it just looked too cluttered.
So I simplified it and this is how it turned out - take a look


So - let me introduce you to Good Morning Magnolia - one of my new favourites (I know I say that about every stamp set!!)

The central image is just stunning and perfect for colouring in with the blends.
I stamped my image using Basic Gray and then coloured it with Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and daffodil Delight Blends. I then cut it out. Why didn't I buy the matching dies - because I like to fussy cut (or maybe it was because I placed my order for it after midnight and chose the wrong item. Note to self - don't place orders when half asleep!!)

I used some of the Magnolia Lane DSP to add the horizontal strip and the flower forms the circle of the sketch. I added a small piece of Bakers Twine to the stem and some flat backed dew drops.

Beauty of the Deep

I do love my nature stamps and I also love stamps of the sea whether it be above or below the waves. I have taken possession of a new set from the catalogue called Beauty of the Deep. I have made a card with this set as it lends it's self perfectly to the the new Boho Blue In Colour. It also has a gorgeous little fish which I couldn't wait to use - take a look Although I've mostly used blue ink I had added white highlights with a gel pen and then to finish it off a little sparkly blue gem. In The Frame.

Yesterday was birthday and my lovely husband bought me some crafting stash. Unfortunately he duplicated an ink pad (Distress Ink - Tea Dye) but the craft shop where he bought it were very kind and let me exchange it for something else. That something was a fab little Crafty Individuals stamp. So I raced home, turned my craft room upside down looking for my EZ Mount, and made this card for this week's Less is More  challenge. This week the girls wanted a one layer card with the theme 'In the Frame' Here is my card I made this by first masking off an area in the center of the card - directly on to a 5" x 5" white card blank. Then using my brayer I added some yellow, blue and green ink to the card. The masks were removed and the image was stamped over the brayered square.
