It's Theme week at  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  and this week we want to see Christmas Cards featuring - FAIRY LIGHTS Now I have to admit that I struggled with this challenge - whose idea was it to do Fairy Lights??? ...... err - that would be me DOH! However Louise to the rescue, she has dashed round with her Pennant Parade stamp set and matching punch and this is what I have come up with You can just see my multi coloured lights on my trees - perhaps you can see them better in this close up I have used the brand new In Colours for this card: Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple. My fairy lights were coloured with last years In Colours. Both the trees and the scalloped edges were punched using the fabulous matching punch for this set. My sentiment has been heat embossed in gold - this is a brilliant stamp set with loads of really useful sentiments in a gorgeous funky font. Materials Stamps: Pennant Parade, Sassy Salutations....

It's been a while since I took part in  Technique Tuesday  - sorry Mynnette, but I am rectifying that now! The technique this month is Bargello and the step by step tutorial is laid out beautifully on Mynnette's blog for you to follow. I am not new to this technique and have done it before take a look  HERE  and  HERE  - today I thought I would have another go as it is such a great technique and a great way of using up scrap pieces of decorative paper. Today I have come over all Christmassy - take a look I am frantically using up as many scraps as I can at the moment and this I think is probably the last of my Just Add Cake DSP and the two together look very festive don't you think? On to my Bargello background I have added a panel of Whisper White card stock to which I then added my three Christmas Trees - can you see that I've made them 3D? Hello everyone - I hope everyone's celebrations over the weekend went well, I'm sorry to say that I did not wait up for midnight and went to bed at a bout 10.30. Am I the only one or did anyone else think that there wasn't anything worth watching on the TV? Got woken by the fireworks though and then again at 2.30am when my daughter rolled in!! OK so it's a New Year and what better way to celebrate than taking part in one of my favourite challenges  Simply Stampin' . They have a sketch for us to follow this week - take a look I found this to be quite a challenging sketch (which is the whole point I guess) but after a lot of thought and deliberation this is what I came up with My colours are from the new In Colour palette - Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade and some added Whisper White. What a lovely day for getting together with friends and crafting. What's even better is having someone come to your house and letting you play with all their Stampin' Up goodies.  Today Paula (click here  to visit her blog) came to demonstrate products from the new catalogue and we all made a lovely card using the Pennant Parade stamps and matching punch. We also got to try out some of the new In Colours - take a look These gorgeous colours are Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo. We also got to play with the Big Shot and cut out the Top Note shape and then embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The little flower was punched out using the Boho Blossoms punch which I was able to get as part of my Hostess gift - yay!
