More High Tide

Image
High Tide is fast becoming one of favourite sets. I love creating scenes - of an artistic nature!!!! and this set makes it so easy. Take a look at my card So this time when I stamped the sea I did it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This gives the sea lots of foamy waves! The seagulls were also heat embossed this time with white embossing powder. Lots of foliage was stamped in the foreground along with a few colourful flowers to finish off the seaside scene. I'm so glad you stopped by today - I hope to see you here again soon x

Making a Scene.

Image
Today I have a card to share with you that I made for a rather special friend. This friend was extremely kind and helpful at the the time my dad died so he deserved a very special card. He loves birds and nature so I combined the two and created a wildlife scene - take a look One of my favourite techniques is sponging over torn copy paper, post it notes and masks and this card uses all those. Here is a close up Stamps used - Stampin' Up Wetlands and the background trees are one I made myself - I stamped the trees many times before re-inking to create a bit of perspective. Thanks for stopping by - please leave a comment - I love to read them xx

Sponged Seascape Scene

Image
I'm cutting really fine for a card for the current challenge over in  The Male Room . The theme is I have a little beach scene to share with you inspired by a card made by  Michelle Zindorf . I've changed the colours on my card along with some of the other elements but I was really pleased with the result.  Here it is It feels like a sunny afternoon in the sand dunes don't you think? Anyway if you like this and would like to have a go a making it yourself I have uploaded a step by step tutorial of my own  HERE  - have a go it;s really quick and easy. I just use sponges and ink and a few post it notes. Thanks for joining me today - see you soon xx

Above and Beyond

Image
During the last couple of weeks Mum and I have been helped out a lot with various things. Here's one of the Thank You cards I made For this card I followed the theme over on  The Male Room Blog I added washi tape down the side of the card matching up the pattern to create stripes and embossed a section of the card with my dotty embossing folder. The colours came from the  Colour Throwdown  blog I used Old Olive, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray. The layout was inspired by the sketch over on the Freshly Made Sketches  blog My stamp set of choice was Wetlands - perfect for males cards and perfect for the recipient who lives by the river where there are literally hundreds of geese! Thanks for looking today - see you soon xx

Blue Wetlands

Image
Hello - I'm back!!! Don't know for how long because we are experiencing terrible internet problems. It keeps dropping out which makes blogging very difficult! Anyway - I'm here and I have a blue card to share with you - come and take a look For this card I made my own background paper with the Fine Feathers set. It's turned out very masculine as I used a variety of blues and greys - my absolute favourite being the Lost Lagoon background card. The lone goose was stamped in Basic Gray and a simple 'Happy Birthday' sentiment was added and the panel was attached with some 3D foam pads. In light of my recent internet problems I have scheduled all my posts for next week - that means it will be working perfectly!! Thanks for looking - have a great rest of the weekend xx

Shades of Blue in The Male Room

Image
Good morning - it's a Wednesday and we have another new challenge ready for you in  The Male Room . This week the theme is SHADES OF BLUE. Blue always reminds me of water so that's what I did. I used the Wetlands stamp set with that gorgeous goose image - take a look Night of Navy is the main blue used on this card with some Soft Sky thrown in for good measure! Thanks for looking - see you soon xx

Paper Pierced Screen Card

Image
Well Monday has come around again and of course I am as organised as ever with my posting - NOT! I went to post my Make My Monday DT card only for my camera batteries to fail 2 seconds after turning it on. I then made the discovery that the card I had so lovingly made was not destined for today's challenge but for next week - it's not the first I've done that recently either. So - this me the perfect opportunity to post Saturday's  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  card. The theme is PAPER PIERCING  - take a look I have been wanting to make a Screen card for ages now and I must say I was rather pleased with the outcome. The picture was sponged and stamped whole and then cut to fit the panels. The piercing is at the top of the card and around the legs at the bottom. Here are some close ups This was a very simple scene to create - torn copy paper and sponges were the main tools and stamp sets Wetlands and Lovely as a Tree were used. The opposite f...

Wetland Birds

Image
It's a new challenge at  Make My Monday  and this week Rosie has chosen BIRDS for our theme. I had to get up at 7am this morning to make this card - I hate getting up early so I do hope you like my card - please take a look My background was created directly onto the card base - I masked off the middle so I could sponge my scene and then masked that while I stamped my feathers above and below. My main panel was also sponged and the bird was cut out separately and attached with dimensions before being carefully lined up with the background (actually that happened by accident and I didn't notice it 'till I just looked at my photo!!) Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Fine Feathers, Simply Sketched Ink: Soft Sky, Midnight Muse, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Dimensionals (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on dee...

I cleared a small space in my craft room this morning and then filled it again making this card for this week's challenge over at  Less is More . It's a one layer card using blues - take a look I scored the card before masking off the top and the bottom, I then used sponges to add the blue ink. A darker blue was used to stamp the reeds and the birds and then the sentiment. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Loving Thoughts Ink: Soft Sky, Midnight Muse Card Stock: Naturals White (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart@gmail.com - a catalogue pdf can be found in the side bar. Another Kick Stand Card

Image
I posted a card a couple of days ago that I demo'd at my last workshop. It was a Kick Stand card and you can go back and see it  HERE  - or you could hang around here a little longer and take a look at the other Kick Stand card that I made today Don't you just love these earthy tones along side the new Soft Sky? Perfect too with the lovely new Wetlands set. It also seemed the perfect opportunity to get out the Fine Feathers again - I've used them to create the background on the top flap. This card actually came about after another demo I did showing off printing with an acrylic block. It's very easy - just add ink straight from the pad directly to the block - huff on it a few times and then press down onto the card stock - here's what I made Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Fine Feathers Ink: Soft Sky, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke Card Stock: Naturals White, Whisper White, Soft ...

Create a Scene

Image
This is the theme for the challenge this week at  Make My Monday . I love making cards with a scene on them and Stampin' Up do the perfect stamp set too. I have chosen two: Wetlands and Lovely as a Tree - take a look I've tried to create a river scene with the trees on the far shore reflected in the water and I do love the birds wading in the foreground. There is a reflected sun in there too but I think it got covered by the reeds! Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Lovely as a Tree, Loving Thoughts Inks: Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Very Vanilla Ribbon, Scallop Trim Punch, Modern Label Punch, Basic Pearls (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart@gmail.com - a catalogue pdf can be found in the side bar.
