Sassy Sketcharinos #006

Image
It's time for another Sunday sketch over on SASSY SKETCHARINOS Here is this weeks sketch And here is my card I stamped my card with the large Pleasant Poppies stamp, marked off where the squares were on the sketch and then coloured within the squares. Tiny butterflies were added along with some pearls and a sentiment. Hope you like my card and I hope you can find time to join in this week - see you soon xx

Freshly Made Sketches

Image
It's a lovely spring day here in Bridgnorth and what makes it even better is that I have been crafting! It seems the new meds are taking effect and I'm starting to feel human again! The card I have for you today is for the challenge over on  Freshly Made Sketches Here is the sketch And here is my card I've used a scrap of Raspberry Ripple DSP to create my border on a background stamped with Pleasant Poppies. My squares have small glittery butterflies on them. Hope you are all having a great Bank Holiday Monday (if you are in the UK) See you soon xx

Birthday Poppies

Image
Here is a birthday card I made recently It was a fun card to make and it's inspired by one I found on Pinterest  HERE . I changed a few of the images and added the butterflies but the layout is the same. Mossy Meadow was used to sponge the background and stamp the leaves while Night of Navy was used to stamp the background poppies. The main poppies were coloured with markers as were the butterflies - they were cut out using a punch. I cut the flowers out by hand. A Sassy Salutations sentiment was added to finish it off. Hope you like it - see you soon xx

Bits and Pieces Card

Image
Good morning - it's a lovely sunny Monday morning here in Bridgnorth and I have a little card to show you made from some bits and pieces found in my stash drawer. Whenever I get packages in the post from friends that craft they are always beautifully decorated and I can't bear to throw them away. So I hang onto them and use them in my crafting. The card stock - Mint Macaron was sent to me by a lovely friend along with the rest of the new Stampin' Up In Colours and the ribbon and butterfly were on a package from one of my Facebook swap buddies. These snippets always come in useful so never throw them away! See you soon xx

Showing off some late cards!

Image
I've been at mum and dad's two weeks now and unfortunately still no crafting. Good news though - daughter is visiting tomorrow hopefully bearing boxes full of craft stash! Meanwhile I've been getting used to my new surroundings and finding places to stash the stuff that I did bring. I have the little room I'm sleeping in (and sharing with the cat) and a corner in the garage. So while I haven't been crafting I do have some pics of cards on my pc that I haven't blogged and these are a couple of Valentine cards - they can very easily be converted to everyday greetings cards as I've used stamps not specific to Valentine's day. This one uses the very versatile Lotus Blossom (Sale-a-bration) and a variety of pink markers ranging from very light to very dark. A silver ribbon bow completes the ensemble. This one uses Pleasant Poppies again coloured with markers. This is another design that could be changed - just use a Happy Birthday sentiment o...

Blended Poppies

Image
From time to time I have a sort out on my computer, I delete random pictures that I have uploaded and I create nice neat new files for the ones I like to keep. I also file all my card pics in files according to stamp sets. Well one such tidying up session occurred a couple of days ago and I found a picture of a card I had made a loooooong time ago when I had first bought some of the new Blendabilities markers. I bought a set of the Cherry Cobbler and a set of the Old Olive. I stamped out the Pleasant Poppies on to Very Vanilla card stock and set to work colouring Now there are lots of ways to colour - check out all the tutorials on YouTube but as a painter I have always gone in first with the lightest shade and then added details with the darker shades. Not bad for a first attempt! Well after all that playing I just had to make a card and this is the result I do believe that this was a sketch from a Mojo Monday challenge many weeks ago and in the end I think ...

1 Stamp 5 Ways

Image
The photos I am going to share with you today were taken a long time ago and the samples were made to demonstrate to a group of ladies at a local craft group. I only took one stamp with me to show them some of the different ways one stamp could be used - it worked as I received a few orders! The stamp was Pleasant Poppies Now of course you could just stamp it onto card stock and mount onto a card blank and that would give us 6 ways but I used the Triple Time Stamping technique and this was the first sample No colouring just basic stamping, matting and layering - looks pretty good. Here's sample number 2 The same card, matted onto a different colour card stock, coloured and embellished - the same stamp but a totally different card. Sample number 3 is a bookmark There are two layers of the green card stock joined together at the back with a scoreline near the top. In between the layers is a small magnet which holds the bookmark in place in your book...
