Phoenix Inspirations

I have a very clean and simple card for you today - in fact it only took minutes to create - once I'd decided what I was going to do! I followed the challenge over at Less is More The colours I have used are - So Saffron and Night of Navy The yellow background was created by inking up a stamping block and spraying it with water. I then gently dried it with my heat gun. The bird image was stamped over the top. I wish it had been darker but I think my ink pad is drying up - time to purchase a re-inker me thinks. A simple sentiment was added in the blue ink to finish it off. That's all for now - off to work now. See you soon - J x

Here's a little card I made using what I thought was quite a strange colour combination The colours are: purple, mint green, hot pink and teal or - Concord Crush, Pistachio Pudding, Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana! My background orchids are from the retired set World of Dreams and of course the pink orchid is from the very new set Climbing Orchid. The colours (which in the end didn't look so strange!) are from the challenge this week at  Color Throwdown The layout is taken from the challenge over on CAS(E) this Sketch Well it's grey and overcast here in Bridgnorth today but blissfully cool! We have a colour challenge this morning for you over on  CAS - Colours & Sketches  - two lovely purples and a green - take a look Don't forget that you do not have to use Stampin' Up colours - they are just a reference. So, when you are feeling down I find that the thing which really lifts my spirits is the scent of lavender, I have a pot right by my back door and it smells heavenly. This has inspired my card for today. Although the stamp I have used is not specifically a lavender flower I thought it looked close enough - what do you think? I have used a lovely new stamp set called World of Dreams and I really love the sentiment which is also part of the set. Silhouette stamps are my favourites and I'm looking forward to showing you some more techniques I have learned using this set so do please come back to take a look.
