I've always loved those stamp sets that allow you to create a more dimensional image and my card today uses one such stamp set: Stippled Blossoms from Stampin' Up. It's a two part image starting with a light background onto which darker detail can be added. The same applies to the leaves too. Here is my card I've also added a few Gorgeous Grunge splats and some washi tape to complete this card and my circle is attached with 3D foam pads. I will be entering this card into this week's challenge over on Just Us Girls Well that's it for today, the sun is shining and I have a whole day off work - my craft room is calling so I'm off to play. I have a quick card to show you today - another thank you card this time made with Stampin' Up's Stippled Blossoms set. Take a look A bit of left over DSP matches perfectly with Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral inks. I also threw in a bit of Certain Celery and Mossy Meadow. I am entering this card into this week's sketch challenge over on the  Paper Players  blog Feeling very chilly today - it's very gloomy and grey outside. It's my turn to pick the theme over at  Make My Monday  and I have chosen - DIE CUTS & OR PUNCHES. it can be just one of the two or both - it's up to you. I used both on my card - take a look I CASE'd the idea for my image from a card on Pinterest by  Darlene Designs  and I think it turned out very well - the images are from Stippled Blossoms and the two stamped layers are blended with an aqua painter. My main panel uses die cuts while the accents either side are a punched shape that has been folded in half and and attached to the DSP layer. I have had a bit of a trying week - again! My poor dad was rushed into hospital last week having suffered a stroke so of course I dropped everything to go and be with mum - luckily it wasn't a bad stroke and dad is now back at home. Apparently it's related to his lymphoma cancer so we will have to wait now to see what treatment he will need. The thing is though that there are soooooooo many exciting things happening at Stampin' Up that I am bursting to tell you about!!!! Don't be surprised if I post many times over the next few days! It's my turn this week to do the Midweek Motivation for  Make My Monday . The theme is Fancy Folds and anything goes as long as there is more than one fold on your project. That's right - the title says it all - the new challenge at  Make My Monday  this week is to create your own background. Now those who know me well know that i do not like getting inky and messy so this had to be a 'clean' background but I had great fun and I suppose I did end up getting a few inky fingers - take a look at what I did  I used my my brayer inked up with Pretty in Pink ink at the top of my card stock - I used Stampin' Up Whisper White card stock as this is super smooth and gives a lovely finish for kind of work. I then inked the brayer again - this time with Certain Celery and brayered the bottom of the card stock. I also went around all the edges with the green. Then (and this is the messy bit!) I used some bubble wrap to add some texture both in the green and pink. After making my background I used it to make my card Adding a darker pink of Primrose Petals card stock for my matting and layering I also added another...

It is time once more for a challenge over on the  Addicted to Stamps and More  blog and this week the theme is Vintage - take a look at my card I thought these pretty papers from the Tea for Two DSP pack looked very vintage and I did a bit of collage work. The rose centre piece has been stamped using the 2 Step Stampin' technique and then cut out and layered on to the background paper. The teapots are cut from the DSP and attached using glue. The big rose was stamped again - cut out and added using dimensionals. How gorgeous does this rose look stamped in Real Red and Cherry Cobbler?? - Just take a look at this close up The flower was stamped and cut out as were the leaves, that way I could choose where to place my leaves behind the rose. Only because the flowers are blue - I'm really happy at the moment, I'm sat in front of the fire blogging, my husband made cupcakes and he is making curry for tea - yum. Here are my blue flowers This set - Stippled Blossoms is fast becoming one of my favourites. I am a great fan of the 2 Step Stamping technique, I love the detail that can be achieved and the colour combinations are infinite. With this card I used Pool Party and Island Indigo for my flowers and Old Olive for the leaves. I stamped onto a piece of scrap paper before I stamped the first layer of green and then used it full strength for the detail stamping. I used the Triple Timed Stamping technique for my card - I actually made this for our first workshop of the year a couple of weeks ago - there is a tutorial  HERE  if you would like to make one yourself. It's time for another challenge over on the  CAS - Colours & Sketches Challenge Blog  and this week we have some colours for you - take a look These are such pretty colours so I chose one of my prettiest stamp sets - Stippled Blossoms This is a '2 Step' stamp set: the pale pink part of the rose was stamped first and then the darker pink detail stamp was stamped over the top. When stamping the leaves the paler green is still Old Olive it was stamped onto scrap paper first and then stamped onto the card stock before re-inking to stamp the detail stamp over the top. It's the first challenge of the year at  Make My Monday  and we have made a few changes. Firstly when you you link up you will see a thumbnail pic of your card - this has been kindly donated by Mynnette of the DT and secondly we have done away with the monthly theme. From now on a different member of the team will set the weekly challenge and this week Suzi B kicks us off with some DRY EMBOSSING. Here is my card My dry embossing is on the cream background panel - run through my dotty embossing folder. I then sponged over the dots to make them stand out more. I have stamped my images using the '2 Step Stamping technique' - the yellow parts of the flowers were stamped first then a more detailed stamp and a darker coloured ink was stamped over the top. I did the same with the leaves but using green inks.
