Nature in The Male Room

Image
Morning all - it's time for a new challenge in  The Male Room  and this week's challenge is NATURE. Take a look at my card I have been having fun with my brayer again - it really is one of my favourite things to use and gives such a beautiful effect. I have a confession to make too - the stamps are not Stampin' Up!!!!!!!!! However I do think they compliment my Stampin' Up colours perfectly and I have had my eye on those hares for a long time now. Here's another piece I did with them - this isn't a card but I have framed it as a picture This was a practise piece as I followed an on line tutorial just to get the feel of the stamps but I loved the result so much at the end that I have framed it to go on my wall! Stampin' Up Materials Used Stamps: Everything Eleanor (Bird on the wire) Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive,Soft Sky, Not Quite Navy (retired) Midnight Muse, So Saffron, Black Stazon Card Stock: Wh...

MMM - Literary Inspiration

Image
This week at  Make My Monday  Mynnette has chosen a book cover for a bit of Literary Inspiration - take a look Now not being a lover of the classics (I know shame on me as my daughter would say!) I haven't a clue what this book is all about so at first glance my card may not seem to go with the pic at all I have used a flourish stamp to echo the swirls in the dress and added some white punched flowers as they can be seen in the trees. A splash of yellow was added in the form of a couple of butterflies and my sentiment echos the book title quite nicely I think - do pop over to the blog as my team mates have made some stunning cards this week all of which do far better justice to the picture than mine. Materials Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Made for You Ink: Crumb Cake, Versamark Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse Paper: Subtles DSP Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones Other: Label Die, Flower Punch, Butterfly P...

Never Ending Card

Image
Hello - before I show you what I made today may I just welcome my new followers, thanks for joining me and I hope you continue to like what you see. So, yesterday was one of my workshops and this time we made a Never Ending Card. These are really fun to make and a great way to use up your scraps of patterned papers. I have loads of scraps at the moment but I can't bear to throw them away no matter how small they are! Here are some pics of my card My papers are from the retired collection 'Just Add Cake' and my stamp set is Everything Eleanor. The inks I have used are - Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist. I'm having a big clear out in my craft room at the moment and you know the saying 'it has to get worse before it gets better'? Well, the mess couldn't get much worse - I have sooooo much stuff!! Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to sort it all out but I am running out of hidey holes in which to stash it. Maybe I should have a craft...

Mojo Monday - Round or Square?

Image
Mojo Monday To my square card base I added some DSP from the Just Add Cake collection along with some Cherry Cobbler - I really do think that this is my most favourite Stampin' Up colour!! A panel of Basic Black was also added. To my round Vanilla circle I added some stamped images: my leaves are from French Foliage and are stamped in Wild Wasbi ink. The Cherry Cobbler flowers are from Everything Eleanor (another favourite). Finally I added a black silk bow and some flat backed black gems. That's all for tonight - click the link under the sketch to check out the challenge and I will see you again soon. Bye for now - Jacqueline xx

Triple Time Stamped CASE.

Image
I saw  THIS  card last week on  Ruth's  blog and just had to have a go. I love Ruth's cards, not only are they beautifully designed and made - she always decorates the inside and makes a matching envelope. On Ruth's blog there is also a link to a video on how to make a card like this The Triple Time Stamped card is made by stamping on three panels of card and mounting them on to card stock mats - it's easier if you watch the video and I just tell you what I used to make my card! Card stock is Taken with Teal and my stamped panels are Whisper White. My swirls are from Everything Eleanor and are stamped with Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the flowers in Tempting Turquoise and they are from the Fabulous Florets set.  Before sticking down the middle two panels I added some white organza ribbon and a blue button and bow. We cleaned our chimney today ready for when winter comes although judging by the weather we have had today I'm sure it won't be long...

Pink

Image
I have another challenge card for you today - again for two challenges In The Pink  - 50 Shades of Pink Come and Get it Challenges  - sketch Here is my card - hope I've used enough pink I have used more of my Twitterpated DSP and this time I have teamed it up with Rich Razzleberry card card - a gorgeous deep raspberry pink colour. My flowers are from the Everything Eleanor set and have been stamped with Pretty In Pink ink and they have been attached around a small lacy doily. My sentiment label is from Baby Blossoms and I have used one of the sentiments from Just Believe. Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look today - see you soon - Jacqueline xx

Birthday Card

Image
One of the ladies of my craft club had a 'special' birthday last week and this is the card I made for her I have combined Everything Eleanor with French Foliage for this one and used Pretty in Pink, Certain Celery and Wild Wasabi inks. The numbers are peel offs (which I don't normally use) and they were silver 'til I coloured them with a pink Promarker. Hope everyone is in the mood for a good weekend - I myself am holding my husband hostage until he has cleaned out the porch - we were all set to do it last weekend but he had to work instead. Next on the agenda - make himself an office. At the moment he uses the kitchen - most inconvenient when he's in an on-line meeting with Japan - 'konichiwa'! See you soon - Jacqueline xx

Simply Stampin' with Eleanor

Image
There is a sketch this week at  Simply Stampin'  - have a look I had such fun with this sketch and as my title suggests - I used my Everything Eleanor set. Take a look at my card I also used a leaf stamp from my French Foliage set and a sentiment from Field Flowers. The colours I used are Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Certain Celery and Wild Wasabi. Also added to the mix were some flat backed gems and some seam binding ribbon. Here's a close up of my flowers - I cut out several layers to make them Well that's it - have a great weekend everyone, see you soon - Jacqueline xx

Sympathy Card

Image
I find sympathy cards very difficult to do - I don't want to make them too dark and depressing but then I don't want to go over the top either. Hopefully I got the balance right with this one Fortunately for me it was for no one that I knew, a past Chairman of our local Village Hall passed away and this was the card I sent his wife on behalf of the present committee. It's very simply done - matting and layering with navy and cream card stock, the flourish stamped from Everything Eleanor and a few tiny flowers with gems. My sentiment stamp is a 99p find at my local craft shop. Right I'm off now to build me an ark - we have had thunder and torrential rain since early this morning and as I live on a hill we are now an island - the lane is flooded both ends!!!! - Bye for now - Jacqueline xx

mmmmmmm - more strawberries and cream

Image
Continuing our RED/GREEN/CREAM themed challenge, for this week's Mid-week Motivation on  Make My Monday  I have created a waterfall card with...................strawberries!!! (I have included a pic of the inside but you must visit the  Challenge blog  to find out why!) I used card stock from my stash drawer for this card however I did use the Everything Eleanor and Precious Butterflies stamp sets. My strawberry is an old Craft Stamper mag freebie coloured with markers. There's still time to take part in the challenge - it doesn't have to be a summery card - these colours look great for Christmas too - see you over there? - Jacqueline xx
