Retired Stash Saturday - Fabulous Flamingo Birthday Card

Image
Today's card uses one of the sets that recently retired - one that I'm not ready to let go of just yet! It's Fabulous Flamingo and today I've teamed it up with the Tropical Chic set - still available. So this card is mad up of several layers. The first is a Pale pink card stock on to which I have matted a layer of white. This has been stamped with green inks and the leaves from the Tropical Chic set. On to this I have layered a piece of vellum. This has been die cut with one of the dies from the tropical Dies set. Finally the flamingo was stamped and fussy cut and added along with some die cut flowers and leaves. I love flamingos so I can see this set remaining a favourite for a very long time! See you soon - J xx

Pretty Flamingo

So the flu is still rampaging but I do feel marginally better and mum is out of hospital so things are looking up! The card I have for you today features my beautiful Fabulous Flamingo - take a look My background was created by swiping a baby wipe and ink over my Whisper White card stock. I then stamped my grass and sponged the bottom of that to make a little piece of land. Finally I stamped my flamingo. I am entering my card into the challenge over at Sketch Saturday I'm off now to order some goodies from the new Spring/Summer mini catalogue and hopefully qualify for some free Sale-a-bration items on the way!!! See you soon - J xx

Fabulous Flamingo Phone Case

Image
Wow - what happened to September, where did it go??? Time is moving so fast and I seem to have done so little! I am having treatment for my fibromyalgia - I have to go to the gym twice a week and surprisingly I am finding that I quite enjoy it - it's not as good as swimming which I LOVE but I am enjoying it! I have managed to grab a little time for crafting and today I have a tutorial for you on how I personalised my phone case - take a look I started with a clear plastic case which fitted my phone - bought mine in a shop in Hereford High Street but take a look on line as I'm sure they are available there too. Draw around the case cut it out and then place inside the case to check the fit. At the same time mark the holes for the camera etc and cut those out too. I was creating a sea scene on mine so I masked off the area for the sky first using post it notes. The sky was sponged with a pale blue ink - Soft Sky.  After that the sea and beach were add...

A Pair of Flamingoes

Image
Fabulous Flamingo has to be one of my all time favourite stamp sets. I love it! Any excuse to create a pink and girly card and out it comes! Today I was browsing around Pinterest and I came across this card  HERE . It's by one of my favourite stampers: Michelle Zindorf and I just had to have a go at CASEing it - come and take a look I changed mine a little - I added an extra flamingo and made it landscape instead of portrait and I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out. Soft Sky was used for the sky (naturally) and Pool Party for the sea. The beach was created with Crumb Cake sand Chocolate Chip and the grasses are Always Artichoke. The palm fronds are Old Olive and it's all mounted onto a mat of Lemon Lime Twist. I used Flirty Flamingo ink for my flamingo and I heat embossed the feather details with white embossing powder. I also used a Blushing Bride marker to add more colour. The eye and beak were also added with a marker pen. I am entering t...

Flamingo on a Beach

Another challenge card today and I'm in time for this one!!! It's for  CAS(E) this Sketch! here is my card I've used Fabulous Flamingo and she is standing on a beach made from a stamp in the  High Tide set. It's almost a one layer card, my scene is stamped on to a panel of Whisper White card stock. It was sponged with Soft Sky ink for the background and then attached to the card blank. My lovely flamingo is stamped in Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate - doesn't she look lovely? I've had a very lazy day today. I took mum into hospital this morning as she was having a small operation. I came home while she had it and spent the afternoon with my feet up catching up on video-d programs! Very lazy I know but I enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by today - see you soon - J xx

Flamingo Bookmark

It's starting to become a habit this blogging after midnight lark! I've been out on the town tonight in Hereford. We went to Miller and Carter steak house. I didn't have steak - I'm not a fan but I did have some lovely fish followed by banoffee pie - yummy!! I drank a couple of glasses of wine and finished off with a glass of gin so I feeling very relaxed and happy now! I don't have a card for you today but a bookmark made with the Fabulous Flamingo set - take a look I had a spare piece of card stock that was quite long so I folded it over and inserted it into the Scallop Top Tag punch. I didn't put it in all the way so that the fold didn't get cut off. Ribbon was added and magnets were attached inside A lovely way to use up scrap card. I'm travelling to Malvern to see my son tomorrow. I don't think I've seen him since January so I'm very excited. I'm also getting to see my old cat Louis. My son adopted him a coup...

I haven't blogged for a couple of days - internet problems again - grrrrr! And I missed the deadline for a challenge - grrrrrrr again! Anyhoo - on with the show - today's card is for the challenge over at The Paper Players I used my beautiful flamingo set again but this time I didn't stamp her in pretty pinks but used her as a silhouette - take a look I masked off my sections using post it notes and brayered my colours on the card base - totally flat, this is a one layer card - perfect for posting! Short and sweet today it's late and I have a full day of ironing planned for tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be as hot as it was today - I hate ironing at the best of times - but when it's hot it's awful!! Thanks for stopping by today - don't forget to check out the offers in the side bar - see you soon - J xx
