French Foliage and Scallops

Image
The challenge this week at  DYSU Challenge Blog  is Rather an interesting photo don't you think? I also thought I'd combine this challenge with the colours that are this week's  Dynamic Duos I already had my French Foliage set out on my work top so I decided to go with it and here is my card I used Certain Celery and Always Artichoke card stock along with my scallop edge punch to create some little panels which were placed under a Certain Celery mat - this was attached using some 3D foam pads. I cut a slightly smaller white panel on to which I added my leaves - stamped in Always Artichoke and Certain Celery ink. I then found a scrap of linen thread to tie around. My little 'thank you' sentiment is from Just Believe. I had great fun creating this card - hope you like it - bye for now - Jacqueline xx

Addicted to Spring

Image
At first I wondered at Kylie's sanity - Spring cards in September????? But then I realised that where Kylie is it is Spring 'cos Kylie lives in Australia and while we are being plunged into dark evenings, wet leaves and frosty mornings, Down Under it is getting warmer................do you have any spare rooms Kylie? Anyway - back to my card. Of course the challenge is  Addicted to Stamps   and here is my card for our third Theme challenge 'SPRING' I went with a zingy fresh green to stamp my leaves - a mish mash of sets, there's little leaves from Pocket Silhouettes, Big leaves from My Friend and tall elegant leaves from Just Believe. My flowers have been punched using a bright yellow and the sentiment has been stamped in a matching ink. A few pearls add a finishing touch. Don't forget to pop over to take a look at all the other dt cards on the blog, they are as always gorgeous. Thanks for looking today - it's great to have your company - ...

Sketch Challenge at Simply Stampin'

Image
Evening all - just a quick post as I think I'm running out of time to play along at this week's  Simply Stampin' challenge. This week it's a sketch challenge - take a look Here is my card After I had flipped the layout I used Baja Breeze card stock and added a length of Melon Mambo gros grain ribbon. On to Whisper White card stock I stamped with Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo ink the large stamp from Just Believe. I also used the circle from that set, I stamped them in Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Baja Breeze ink and then cut them out. I added a sentiment (it's not on the sketch so I hope the girl's don't mind!) - all from the Just Believe set. Enjoy the weekend folks - Jacqueline xx

Fairy Shadow Box Card

Image
My  Make My Monday  Mid-week motivation card this week follows our Dreams and Fairies theme for the Midsummer Night's Dream challenge - it's a shadow box card. My aperture was die cut on the Cuttlebug using the largest of my nesting butterfly dies. Inside I sponged over a post it note moon and then stamped a silhouette fairy. A little sparkly glitter was added and then on the outside I added my sentiment, a few butterflies and some flat backed gems. My sentiment is from Just Believe and I stamped it on to a die cut label. I am a little obcessed with my Swiss Dots embossing folder at the moment - as you can see I have embossed the front of my card with it! - I feel a trip to the craft shop coming on! There are more details for this card over on the blog please do pop over and take a look. Short and sweet this time - see you later - Jacqueline xx

Simply Stampin' Sketch

Image
It feels like it's been a while since I have blogged - my last few posts were scheduled as I have been away and  now that I am back I am preparing for the Jubilee weekend. I am up to my eyeballs in bunting, fairy cakes and acrylic paint - but more on that story later. The card I have made to show you today covers a lot: firstly it was made for the Mid-week Motivation for this week's  Make My Monday  challenge. It also follows the sketch over on this week's  Simply Stampin'  blog And finally I had to make a Thank You card as I am making a presentation over the weekend to a lady who is retiring - whew - here is the card Stamps used: S'U Baby Blossoms and Just Believe Inks: Old Olive, Blushing Bride and Regal Rose. I'm off now to paint the Queen's hat! - Jacqueline xx

MMM - Flowers and Music

Image
Morning everyone - I am away at the moment so hopefully this post has scheduled properly and has appeared on time!! It's  Make My Monday  again and this week the challenge is to create something along the lines of Flowers and Music. Here is my card When I set out to make this card I realised that I had run out of card blanks - and horror of horrors I had no white or cream card to make one. Now I am much too tight to use my expensive coloured card stock to do this so I had a rootle around and found a card I had made ages ago that I didn't like. I hacked off the used bit , added a piece of Kraft card to the half that was left and voila! - problem solved. Will have to go shopping now though! More scraps were added in the form of a piece of paper with music on, and a piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock that had gone through a Swiss Dots embossing folder. All that was left to do now was add my flowers - Baby Blossoms in Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush - and my sentimen...

Sketch Challenge

Image
OK - my second post of the day - and it's only 8am! I am striking while the iron is hot and making the most of my computer whilst it's working! For this card I have followed the sketch over on  Stampin' Royalty Here is my card I have used some of the last of my Springtime Vintage DSP along with two of my favourite sets - Just Believe and My Friend - both stamped in Rose Red ink. The images have been matted onto Always Artichoke card stock and I have also used some pieces of Crumb Cake and Whisper White. Thanks for taking a look today - see you soon - Jacqueline xx

Baby Blossom Roses

Image
I have had an idea in my head for a couple of weeks now and finally yesterday it escaped and became an actual card. I made it before I made the owl card that I posted yesterday - that one evolved because of this one I hadn't used my Baby Blossoms set for ages and now I can't put it down! I've also used one of my favourite sentiment stamps from Just Believe. Also used some of my favourite Kraft card stamped with a couple of corner flourishes so I shall be entering this into the  Kraft Journal  challenge where the theme is 'April Showers Bring May Flowers' - hope it fits in over there! See you soon - Jacqueline xx

Mojo Monday

Image
Here is this week's Mojo Monday  Sketch Here is my card I have used the fabulous Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration DSP with a few bits cut out for embellishment. Pool Party card stock was also used along with stamps from Just Believe and My Friend. Short and sweet tonight - see you soon - Jacqueline xx

Never Ending Card

Image
I have just got back from a craft workshop where I was actually one of the taught and not the teacher and we made a 'Never Ending Card' Jo - our leader had some Papermania kits that were pre-scored which we used as templates to cut our own and then decorate. Here's mine It's the same all through the card - I had some 12" x 12" red paper with me and a few stamps. The stamps I used were from Everything Eleanor, Vintage Vogue, My Friend and Just Believe. The card works by firstly opening the vertical centre sections Then the middle sections are opened horizontally There's another vertical opening to get to the back of the card This is so easy to make - look out for a quick tutorial tomorrow on  Make My Monday . See you soon - Jacqueline xx

MMM - Create a Scene

Image
Morning all - it's week 32 at  Make My Monday  and the challenge this week is still following the theme of NATURE but to CREATE A SCENE , here is my card This week I have taken my inspiration from one of my favourite crafters - Michelle Zindorf - click  here  for her Splitcoast Stampers gallery. I used my brayer to ink the sky and water masking off the clouds. The trees are Stampin' Up - Lovely as a Tree and I also used my brayer to apply the reflection - ink up your stamp and carefully roll the brayer over it, the image is transferred to the brayer and can in turn be transferred to the paper. The foreground is stamped in black Versafine and is from the Just Believe set. Colours used: Baja Breeze, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip and Basic Black. Please hop over and take a look at what my fellow team members have come up with - it would be great to see you there - Jacqueline xx
