Make My Monday - Childhood Memories

Image
We are almost half way through this week's challenge at  Make My Monday  and this week the theme is 'Childhood Memories' My card on first appearance my not seem very childish but the images do bring back many fond memories for me. Both my Granddads were gardeners and both grew huge amounts of bedding plants which by this time of the year would be blooming madly. My favourites were always the marigolds and more specifically the french marigolds - take a look These stamps I believe are more likely to be scabious flowers however inked with the gold and red do look very much like the marigolds from my memories. I remember too my one Granddad in his greenhouse collecting the seeds from the dead flower heads and the smell was amazing! Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Field Flowers, Nature Walk (retired) Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip Card Stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler Accessories: Dimensionals (To order an...

Feeling a little Blue

Image
Only because the flowers are blue - I'm really happy at the moment, I'm sat in front of the fire blogging, my husband made cupcakes and he is making curry for tea - yum. Here are my blue flowers This set - Stippled Blossoms is fast becoming one of my favourites. I am a great fan of the 2 Step Stamping technique, I love the detail that can be achieved and the colour combinations are infinite. With this card I used Pool Party and Island Indigo for my flowers and Old Olive for the leaves. I stamped onto a piece of scrap paper before I stamped the first layer of green and then used it full strength for the detail stamping. I used the Triple Timed Stamping technique for my card - I actually made this for our first workshop of the year a couple of weeks ago - there is a tutorial  HERE  if you would like to make one yourself. Here's a close up of the middle I shall be entering this card into the 'LAYERS' challenge over at the  Card Crafters Circle Materia...

MMM - Dry Embossing

Image
It's the first challenge of the year at  Make My Monday  and we have made a few changes. Firstly when you you link up you will see a thumbnail pic of your card - this has been kindly donated by Mynnette of the DT and secondly we have done away with the monthly theme. From now on a different member of the team will set the weekly challenge and this week Suzi B kicks us off with some DRY EMBOSSING. Here is my card My dry embossing is on the cream background panel - run through my dotty embossing folder. I then sponged over the dots to make them stand out more. I have stamped my images using the '2 Step Stamping technique' - the yellow parts of the flowers were stamped first then a more detailed stamp and a darker coloured ink was stamped over the top. I did the same with the leaves but using green inks. Materials Stamps: Stippled Blossoms, Field Flowers Ink: Daffodil Delight, tangerine Tango, Certain Celery, Old Olive, Crumb Cake Card Stock: Naturals Ivory, Pumpkin...

A Little Bit Late

Image
I'm on the DT for  Addicted To Stamps And More  but for obvious reasons this week I was unable to get my card to Kylie on time - so I thought I'd post it now even if it's just to remind you about this week's  BINGO  challenge, take a look at the bingo card For my card I chose the line that included 'Orange, Free and White' For my free choice I chose Flowers. Here is my card My orange is Tangerine Tango and I have teamed it with Whisper White. My flowers are from the gorgeous new set Field Flowers. I love these, they are a two step stamping set which means you stamp an image in a pale colour ink and then stamp again over the top with a darker ink to add all the gorgeous detail. You can also do what I did and stamp in a dark colour but stamp onto scrap paper first so the ink becomes paler. Materials  Stamps: Field Flowers. Inks: Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi Card Stock: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango (I will be happy to order any of the a...

ATS - Sketch #2

Image
Kylie has designed a gorgeous sketch for us to follow this week at  Addicted to Stamps , come and take a look Here is my card I must admit that I tend to follow sketches as they are set out and I have done that here. I have used Stampin' Up DSP, ribbon, bakers twine and button - all of which I managed to get free as I am in a 'Stampers 6' club. My flower is made from the Blossom Punch and my stamped sentiment is from Field Flowers. I used one of my favourite crafting supplies too - my Liquid Pearls to accent the corners. The dt have made some stunning cards for you to see this week and they are waiting for a visit from you over on the  blog  so i really hope we see you over there - bye for now - Jacqueline xx

Addicted to .....CAS

Image
I love clean and simple cards and the challenge this week at Addicted to Stamps  is all about that - take a look I have simply taken a 5 1/4 " x 5 1/4 " card blank and added a panel of cream card stock and then scored down vertically either side. My stamped images are from my Field Flowers set and have been inked in Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose. Here's a close up of my flowers - stamped using the Two-Step Stampin' technique Thanks for stopping by to take a look today - please pop over and see all the lovely work from the rest of the dt - bye for now - Jacqueline xx

Simply Stampin' with Eleanor

Image

Also added to the mix were some flat backed gems and some seam binding ribbon. Here's a close up of my flowers - I cut out several layers to make them Well that's it - have a great weekend everyone, see you soon - Jacqueline xx

Colour Wheel Mid-week Motivation

Image
For this week's Mid-week Motivation piece over on  Make My Monday  I have created a card using the colours ORANGE, GREEN AND PURPLE. I have used Fresh Vintage for the main image and cut out flowers and then the sentiment is from Field Flowers. All stamps have been inked with marker pens before stamping in Certain Celery, Wisteria Wonder, Peach Parfait and Concord Crush. Card stock is from my stash. Here are a couple of close ups All challenge details can be found  HERE  if you would like to have a go and I will see you soon - Jacqueline xx

1st Challenge at Addicted to Stamps.

Image
It's arrived - the first ever challenge for  Addicted to Stamps  and the challenge is to: Make Your Mark That is you create your project using markers - Promarkers, Copics, Stampin' Write markers etc. I love my Promarkers and have used them a lot in the past but just at the moment my preference is my Stampin' Write markers. They are special in that they can colour directly on to your stamps. So instead of one stamp inked with one ink pad you can colour each individual element of one stamp in a different colour. Here is my very first dt piece for the challenge Can you see how each stripe on the balloons is coloured differently? I love that about these markers. To match the colours of my balloons I have also coloured the tiny flowers with markers and the sentiment label. My sky and hills were sponged with ink that had been scribbled onto an acrylic block - careful when doing this as the ink is more concentrated than when it comes off the ink pad, My stamps are: Up,...

Dynamic Duos

Image
Another colour challenge at the  Dynamic Duos  blog Not much stamping on this card - decided to go with punches and die cuts, take a look I die cut 9 fancy So Saffron squares on my 'Bug and laid them on to a Pool Party mat. My label and frame are also die cut and my stamped sentiment is from Field Flowers. The flowers are punched using the Stampin' Up Boho Blossoms punch. Each flower has been embellished with pearls. Bye for now - Jacqueline xx

Made Me Think Of Batman!

Image
It was this new challenge blog that I heard so much about -  Dynamic Duos  - Batman and Robin! I know it's getting close to the end of the week .......... Here's the challenge I also thought I'd follow the sketch for this week's  Simply Stampin' Challenge Here is my card The patterned background paper is Stampin' Up Everyday Enchantment DSP and on to that I have layered my strips of Lucky Limeade card stock. My mat of Pool Party has a layer of Whisper White and on to this I have placed my stamped image - Field Flowers. To finish it off I have added a seam binding ribbon bow. This will probably be my last post for a few days apart from a couple of scheduled challenge posts - dad is in hospital tomorrow so I'm off to visit him and mum. He has his chemotherapy and me and mum do lunch! Dad's very lucky though the treatment is working and keeping him well. Hope everyone has a great weekend - I'm hoping it's going to s...
