1st Challenge at Addicted to Stamps.
It's arrived - the first ever challenge for Addicted to Stamps and the challenge is to:
I love my Promarkers and have used them a lot in the past but just at the moment my preference is my Stampin' Write markers. They are special in that they can colour directly on to your stamps. So instead of one stamp inked with one ink pad you can colour each individual element of one stamp in a different colour.
Here is my very first dt piece for the challenge
Can you see how each stripe on the balloons is coloured differently? I love that about these markers. To match the colours of my balloons I have also coloured the tiny flowers with markers and the sentiment label. My sky and hills were sponged with ink that had been scribbled onto an acrylic block - careful when doing this as the ink is more concentrated than when it comes off the ink pad,
My stamps are: Up, Up and Away, Simply Said, Flight of the Butterfly and Field Flowers. The colours I have used are all from the In Colour range.
It would be so nice to see you over there - hopefully I will be visiting your blogs very soon and please stay tuned for our monthly scrapbook challenge too. Bye for now - Jacqueline xx

Hi there, such a pleasure to be working with you on ATS, love your card and the fabulous way you have used the markers. The sponged background is so pretty and beautifully done.

Love the gorgeous rainbow of colours on your balloons, and that sponging is fabulous. Great card!
ReplyDeleteI also love the verstility of the SU! markers. I too use them straight onto stamps and they give such an awesome effect. This card is just lovely. My step-mother turns 60 next month and we are giving her a Hot Air Balloon ride as a present. This card will be perfect for her - thanks for the inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful card Jacqueline. Super colouring with your SU pens - it has a wonderfully summery feel. Great to be working with you on ATS.

PS: Off to check out the challenge.
I agree with you about the SU markers Jacqueline - that's how I use mine mostly and I don't know what I'd do without them! I absolutely love the scene you've created with these gorgeous balloons and in such fabulous colours too! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a stunner, Jacqueline! I LOVE SU! markers, too--I've been collecting them a few at a time over the years and am sooooo glad to have them!!! Can't wait to play along with you all--this sounds like such fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree about the markers as well. In fact I can't imagine how I crafted for so long without them. They are absolutely indispensable to me now. This is a brilliant scene with some smashing stamps.
ReplyDeleteGuess what I ordered today??? Yep! This stamp set. I cannot wait to use it lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the scene you've created Jacqueline and your hot air balloons look fab. Colouring straight onto the stamps saves a lot of faffing!! x
