Orange Opulance

Image
Gosh - January didn't hang around did it? I can't believe it's February already! Have any of you got snow? Thankfully we have none at the moment because I hate it. I live on top of a hill so to get anywhere (I don't drive) I'm either going downhill or uphill - I could do with a ski-lift!!! Anyhoo - to brighten up your dark day it's challenge time over at the  Rainbow Card Challenge This month's theme is The rules are simple - a monochrome card using orange. Here's mine for the team I chose a snowy theme as most of the UK is snowbound at the moment! My images are from the SU set Endless Wishes along with a sentiment from the Good Greetings set. A little unconventional for a Christmas Card perhaps but I had fun making it! I hope you can play along with us this month - see you soon - J xx

A few More Christmas Cards

Image
Wouldn't it be good to be able to slow down time at the flick of a switch? I don't know about you but for me time is simply galloping by. I just about got my tree done and now I need to start on Mum's. But I still have cards to make and write, presents to buy and wrap and of course there is the Christmas Day running order to work out. Oh and I've still got my job to do too!!! So my title is -  few more Christmas cards - however I seem to have deleted some of them from my files so I've got one for today and I will take some more pics later when the light is better - don't you just hate these dark winter days? Today's card is some Triple Time Stamping - take a look Three pieces of card stock with the images stamped on to them and then stacked up with coloured mats behind them. I stamped my greeting onto some velum and also added some gems to add a bit of sparkle. Ok so I'm off to to  bit more Christmas crafting - see you soon - J xx

Christmas Bells

Image
This isn't Saturday for me yet - I'm writing this on Friday evening. When you read this I shall probably be on my way to work. I say work - I volunteer at my local Cancer Research shop and it's not hard work - it's great fun. I got to dress all the mannequins this week - one of my favourite parts of the job. But - you came here to see my card for this week's challenge over on  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown This week as it's the fifth week of the month it's a 'Pick a Previous' I have chosen the theme of Bells from January 2015 - take a look A very quick and simple card: a bit of stamping, a couple of frosty bells and a twisty bow. Hope you like it - see you soon xx

Monday Again

Image
Yes it's Monday morning again - doesn't it come around quick? I can't believe we are nearly half way through May already! So,it's been nearly a week since my last post but we have been experiencing Internet problems again. it keeps getting sorted and then it crashes again - it really is quite frustrating. But anyway today I am on and here is my card - hope you like it This card follows on from last week's post HERE  where I took a single stamp and made some quick and easy note cards. Again the image is stamped using the Hey There Buds stamp and using just two marker pens - a blue and a green. This time the card is dressed up with a ribbon and a few gems and a different sentiment taken from the Good Greetings set. I've also added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter but unfortunately this doesn't show up on the photo. Did everyone have a good weekend? I spent mine digging and sowing and now I'm quite sore! Crafting is a much gentler pass time don...

Christmas Crafting Already!!!

Image
That's right people - Christmas crafting already. I shall tell you why I do it: I love stamping and making cards and it always used to grieve me to have to put away my lovely Christmas stamps at the end of December and then wait a whole 11 months before I started using them again. I always hated the last minute rush and panic too to get lots of Christmas cards done in such a short space of time because lets face it - when you're a card maker everyone expects a handmade card don't they?! So, that being said two years ago I decided to set up a Christmas card challenge blog to run all year - the  52{Christmas} Card Throwdown  and every week at this same time you will find a Christmas card here on my blog. Want to join in? Well we are starting the New Year off with a round of challenges set for us by dt member Deborah and our very first sketch of the year is this - You can change the orientation of the sketch and even change the focal shape - but please do keep the ess...

Minute Makes

Image
Hello - actually good evening! I had huge plans to do loads today, take down decorations and give the lounge a good clean, do some crafting and cleaning in my room of stash but instead I went out for lunch with my daughter and then shopping afterwards - it was great. However on my return my fingers were itching to do some crafting - even for just a few minutes so I decided to make a New Year card and it literally took minutes to make! Here it is I used a C6 card base and mounted up my trees from White Christmas. I used a Stazon ink pad and stamped directly onto my card base. I then added a bird in a tree and the polar bear. This can be done so quick because the images are all in the same set and I used the same ink for all. I then quickly added red to the bird with a marker pen and added some pale blue for shadows to give a snowy effect - the sentiment is from the Good Greetings set and was stamped in the same red marker that I used for my bird. In fact I think it has taken lo...
