This is the last week of our Vintage themed challenges at Make My Monday  and we are finishing with VINTAGE TRAVEL Here is my card My card is made using some K&Co paper (I forget which collection) and I have gone for a bit of nautical travel. I started with a 5" x 5" square card with a mat of pale blue card stock. Over that I have layered some of the papers, I cut out various pieces of interest and added them with 3D foams pads along with my words of travel. All my edges were sponged with Distress Ink before sticking down. Today over on the  Make My Monday  challenge blog it's time for the Mid-week Motivation. This week for my dt card I made a Recessed Window card and I have been asked to do a tutorial for it - so pop on over to the blog and take a look at all the details on how to make this card I have used some K&Company Blue Awning paper, some Creative Expressions alphabet stamps, a butterfly stamp (can't remember where from!) and a Tim Holtz Pointer. I also used some Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. Here are a couple of close ups I am also entering this card into the  Flutter By Wednesday's  challenge - the challenge is open, just make sure you include a butterfly, fairy or angel. Today was my last Tuesday morning workshop of the year and we made notebooks. I make a lot of notebooks - they make great gifts and also they go down very well at my craft fairs. Here's a couple that I made a while ago This is the one I made today for the workshop The gorgeous dotty paper is from a DCWV pad and so is the paper used to mount my owl. The owl of course is my SU 2Step Owl punch and she is sitting on a branch punched from the 2 Step Bird punch. A third punch - Boho Blossoms was used to punch the flowers. The initial is gorgeously glittery and is from K&Company. The notebook it's self was made from a cheap A4 pad and there is a full tutorial over on my  Craft Club  blog. I also used my faithful Bind-it-All machine to give it a professional look. You could also use ring binders or ribbon if you don't have a Bind-it-All. Thanks for looking - Jacqueline xx

Good afternoon - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I did some cards earlier in the week using some of my own designed stamps. I have been playing with them again today but instead of using the brayer I have been using embossing powders. This card was first stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then used the direct to paper technique and covered the card stock with Desert Sand Memento ink - I also used some Rich Cocoa too. I then ironed over the piece with a hot iron  - I covered it first with a piece of copy paper. (hee hee - I do more 'ironing' in my craft room than any where else!) More images were stamped on to the card stock this time just using inks. The bees are more of my K&Co Grand Adhesions and blend in quite nicely with this colour scheme don't you think? It's the first of the month and we have a new theme over on the Make My Monday  challenge blog and this month we are concentrating on all Things With Wings. I am so looking forward to these challenges and the first is Butterflies or Dragonflies. I chose Butterflies and here is my card I started off with a cream 5" x 5" card blank and added some Sage Shadow card stock. This was stamped with a script stamp and inked around the edges. I then took a piece of patterned paper and distressed the edges with my scissor blade and again inked them. I used a 'splat' (!) stamp to add some detail and there is also a postmark and number stamped on. The beautiful butterflies were added last to finish it off. What a lovely sunny 1st of September we are having - yikes September, time just seems to be racing by! Today I thought I would share with you a challenge card. It isn't a blog challenge as usual but one set for me by one of the ladies of my craft group. I normally challenge them but this month the tables have been turned and each of my ladies have set me a challenge. This is 'A birthday card suitable for a man'. Colour was my choice but I had to include 2 decorative papers, 1 stamp, a sentiment and 3 brads. How did I do? My 2 decorative papers came from the Sea Glass range from K & Company and I also cut out some of the images of one piece to decoupage. My 1 stamp is the seashell which was a freebie on the cover of Craft Stamper magazine and I put my 'Happy Birthday' sentiment on a tab secured with the 3 brads. Just a quick short post as promised to show you the Flip Album I demonstrated at last week's workshop. This one is a made up album without all the embellishments This is the bare bones of the album and as far as we got on Thursday night. Hopefully my Ladies went staight home and decorated their albums - just as I did The pink album was the sample album - this is the one I made on the night. Blue seems to be my colour of the moment. Inspirarion for the little tag pockets was taken from a video I saw on You Tube and the papers are Blue Awning by K&Company. Lovely Louise over over on Tag Tuesday  this week gave us the theme of 'Postage'. So I had a rummage through all my crafting stash and found some postage stamps that I had bought many years ago hoping to make some 'Man' cards. I am also at the present time working with some K&Company papers which also display a postage theme. It was just putting them all together in a cohesive way that I had problems with! Anyway this is what I managed to come up with - I hope it works. I've been looking at every one elses work and it is superb, I just hope you like mine. Bye for now - Jacqueline xx.

You know I have been feeling a little down lately, don't know why, just one of those things I suppose. Anyway thought I would cheer myself up by making a tag for this week's Tag Tuesday. The theme is 'Men' which I think is to tie in with Father's Day on Sunday. My Mum had given me a big box of photographs of my Grandad - her father - I'm supposed to be making a scrapbook of them, so I thought I would use one for my tag. They are mostly pictures of when he was over seas during the war but I managed to find one of when I remember him most - in the garden with his pigeons.
