Under the Sea

Image
It's Thursday and time for another challenge at  CAS - Colours & Sketches . Today it's a colour theme - take a look A beautiful collection don't you think, chosen for us by the lovely Louise. They are very Spring like too however, I went down another road and went under the sea - take a look I embossed with white embossing powder before sponging my ink over the top to create my sea. My Calypso Coral shell was also embossed and ink was sponged over the top before it was cut out and attached using dimensionals. The white heat embossed powder resists the ink and makes the images stand out beautifully - a sentiment was all that was needed to finish it off. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: By the Tide, Loving Thoughts Ink: Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Pool Party Card Stock: Very Vanilla Accessories: White EP, Dimensionals (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart@icloud.com - ...

Watercolour Trees

Image
I have a card to show you that I made a while ago. It was a technique I learnt at a local craft club. Take a look at the card I will tell all! I used some of the Naturals Ivory card to stamp on as it was the closest to watercolour paper I could find at the time. It's quite porous which is perfect for this technique. My stamp was inked with markers and then spritzed with water and then stamped. It gives a lovely blurred look to the image which worked very well with the tree from Serene Silhouettes and what's so great about this technique is that you get a totally different image every time you do it. The image in the middle was just stamped normally but still using the marker pens. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Loving Thoughts Ink: Early Espresso, Always Artichoke Card Stock: Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Dimentionals (To order any of the above current items or ...

Embossing for Make My Monday

Image
Over at  Make My Monday  Laura is our first Hostess of the year and she has chosen EMBOSSING for our challenge this week. I've used loads on my card - dry embossing with a folder through the Big Shot and some gold and clear embossing using my heat gun. I also went outside of my comfort zone a little for this one and I'm still not sure whether I like it or not - the idea worked anyway - take a look I managed to make the ink look wet by using some clear embossing powder I used a Versamark pen and repeated the process about 3 times to achieve the look I was aiming for Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: World Map, The Open Sea, Fine Feathers, Loving Thoughts Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Versamark Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Gold and Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Heat Gun (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart...
