Phoenix Inspirations

One of the ladies of my craft club had a 'special' birthday last week and this is the card I made for her I have combined Everything Eleanor with French Foliage for this one and used Pretty in Pink, Certain Celery and Wild Wasabi inks. The numbers are peel offs (which I don't normally use) and they were silver 'til I coloured them with a pink Promarker. Hope everyone is in the mood for a good weekend - I myself am holding my husband hostage until he has cleaned out the porch - we were all set to do it last weekend but he had to work instead. Next on the agenda - make himself an office. At the moment he uses the kitchen - most inconvenient when he's in an on-line meeting with Japan - 'konichiwa'! See you soon - Jacqueline xx

It was my birthday yesterday and amongst my many pressies I received some nesting butterfly dies. I was over the moon as a while ago I had seen  THIS  card on  VICKY'S  blog and was dying to recreate it. My card looks like this My card stock was folded in half and the die placed on the card stock just a little above the fold so that it made a shaped card. I used my cuttlebug. The butterfly was then die cut again - whole and used to make an easel card. There are four dies in the set and I cut a number of them to layer up on the card - I then added a sentiment and a few gems to finish it off. What a lovely sunny 1st of September we are having - yikes September, time just seems to be racing by! Today I thought I would share with you a challenge card. It isn't a blog challenge as usual but one set for me by one of the ladies of my craft group. I normally challenge them but this month the tables have been turned and each of my ladies have set me a challenge. This is 'A birthday card suitable for a man'. Colour was my choice but I had to include 2 decorative papers, 1 stamp, a sentiment and 3 brads. How did I do? My 2 decorative papers came from the Sea Glass range from K & Company and I also cut out some of the images of one piece to decoupage. My 1 stamp is the seashell which was a freebie on the cover of Craft Stamper magazine and I put my 'Happy Birthday' sentiment on a tab secured with the 3 brads. Just a quick post to share with you a card I made for a friend who's birthday it is today. It has been made using the Stampin' Up set Greenhouse Garden and Distress Inks. The flowers were stamped separately, cut out, shaped with a bone folder and then stuck on the card using 3D foam pads. Little touches of bling were also added. Hi folks. Thought you might like to see my latest project. It's been a bit of a rush job - it's for my husband's birthday - tomorrow!! I started off with one of those washing tablet boxes and turned it inside out. Then I distressed it with my Tim Holtz Distress inks. I used Brushed Corduroy, Tea Dye and Peeled Paint. Then I ripped up some garden ephemera papers that I had stashed away and I finished off by embossing a few plant images with gold EP. Then I made a few file cards and some packets of seeds . All he has to do now is grow all the stuff and hope the slugs don't eat it all before we do!! Bye for now - Jacqueline xx.
