It's Christmas card time again and this week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have a colour theme for you - take a look And here is my card This is a 4" x 4" card base with a gold dotted frame drawn with a gold fine liner pen. On to that I attached a die cut gold star. On to a piece of white card stock I stamped my star image, embossed it with gold embossing powder and die cut that also. I then folded it to make it 3D before adding with a stack of foam pads in the middle. The second photo shows this although it's a little blurry! Good morning everyone thanks for joining me today. I have a Christmas card to share with you - it's my DT card for this week's challenge over on 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown This week we want to see........ The I made literally took minutes! My craft space is such a mess and it's so cold down there that I had to make something really quick so I could get back into the warmth again!!! On my desk I happened to find a piece of card stock I had die cut a star out of - very lucky as I still can't find my cutting plates for my Big Shot!!!! I sponged through the star shape and here is what I made As I said the stars took minutes to add. I used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie inks and then used a black fine liner pen to add some tiny details. The glittered star is from an old Christmas kit and the snowflake is one I removed from a card I received at Christmas. The sentiment is from Bright and Beautiful and I hand drew a frame to finish it off. ...

That's right people - Christmas crafting already. I shall tell you why I do it: I love stamping and making cards and it always used to grieve me to have to put away my lovely Christmas stamps at the end of December and then wait a whole 11 months before I started using them again. I always hated the last minute rush and panic too to get lots of Christmas cards done in such a short space of time because lets face it - when you're a card maker everyone expects a handmade card don't they?! So, that being said two years ago I decided to set up a Christmas card challenge blog to run all year - the  52{Christmas} Card Throwdown  and every week at this same time you will find a Christmas card here on my blog. Who doesn't like stars at Christmas? The Bright and Beautiful stamp set has gorgeous star images and co-ordinates with the star dies too - take a look I am also loving the Lost Lagoon blue ink from the In - Colours - it looks great with silver and is perfect for Christmas. I also used the Good Greetings set to make a word border for my card. The centre star is folded and raised up on 3D dimensionals - not good for posting I know but fine for hand delivering. I have been very naughty lately and have lots of new goodies including these fabulous star stamps and dies which I used for this card for  Make My Monday The Christmas sentiment is from the Endless Wishes set and I really do love the font style they have used - looks great stamped around the edge to frame the star. The centre star is folded so that it stands up from the front of the card. I did this by folding the star so that every point was creased - in between the points also have a fold. All you do then is make sure that every crease on a point is a mountain fold and every crease in between is a valley fold. Pile up a few dimensionals in the middle so the star can't be squished. Not good for posting I know but great if it's being hand delivered.
