Christmas Critters

Image
It's time for another Christmas card and this week on 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  Fabiola wants to see.... Here is my card (my critters might just be a bit big though!!!) And a close up of my main critter I love to make this style of card and with this one I kept the colour palette quite limited: green, red and brown. My stamps are a mish mash of what I have in my stash with a bit of Stampin' Up White Christmas thrown in for good measure - love how the banner fits perfectly on the reindeer's antlers. Do pop over and take a look at the other critters on show on the challenge blog and I will see you soon xx

Winter Birthday Wishes.

Take a look I've used White Christmas for my images and a few other sentiments cobbled together to make my greeting. Here is a close up Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look - see you soon x

A Little Christmas Crafting

Image
So I'm back to crafting now. I gave my crafting area a bit of a clean up yesterday and got down to a bit of card making. Now normally at this time of the year I have a nice pile of Christmas cards made as I used to design for the  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown . Sadly I had to give that up but I do miss making Christmas cards and using all my gorgeous Chritmassy stamps. So I decided to make one using the theme from this weeks  52{C}CT  'Snowman'. Here is my card Although this looks quite clean and simple it took ages to make! This is also the second attempt as the first went a bit wrong! I stamped the snowy ground first using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. The snowman from White Christmas was stamped, coloured and embossed too so that I could make a mask and sponge the blue background. Some gems were added for stars and a simple greeting from Good Greetings to finish it off. Dad's funeral was earlier this week so things are still a bit strange. M...

Minute Makes

Image
Hello - actually good evening! I had huge plans to do loads today, take down decorations and give the lounge a good clean, do some crafting and cleaning in my room of stash but instead I went out for lunch with my daughter and then shopping afterwards - it was great. However on my return my fingers were itching to do some crafting - even for just a few minutes so I decided to make a New Year card and it literally took minutes to make! Here it is I used a C6 card base and mounted up my trees from White Christmas. I used a Stazon ink pad and stamped directly onto my card base. I then added a bird in a tree and the polar bear. This can be done so quick because the images are all in the same set and I used the same ink for all. I then quickly added red to the bird with a marker pen and added some pale blue for shadows to give a snowy effect - the sentiment is from the Good Greetings set and was stamped in the same red marker that I used for my bird. In fact I think it has taken lo...

Four Seasons

Image
Here is a card to show you the versatility of a couple of  Christmas stamp sets. White Christmas and Holiday Home are not just for Christmas - take a look at a Four Seasons card I made a while ago These sets won't be hanging around for much longer - they go with end of the Holiday Mini catalogue so if I were you I would snap them up quick and you could be creating outdoor scenes for the rest of the year! Thanks for looking xx

Last Minute Quick and Easy

Image
So time is racing on and time is precious but you have a few short moments to create a few last minute cards - like this one perhaps? I've used White Christmas - the tree stamp is inked with a marker so I can only ink up the parts I need to - like this one lone tree. A few birds are added along with a Rudolf deer and a sentiment - honestly this took minutes to create and a whole batch could be made in no time at all. The set has lots of little extras as well so instead of a deer why not add a snowman, a polar bear or a a car? Thanks for looking xx

A Nordic Christmas Card

Image
At the  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  this week the them is to make a Nordic Christmas card Don't know what that is .... read on "Simply put, it's rustic, minimalist, cool, cozy, calm and peaceful. That means  Natural  and  Neutral  tones such as  wood, black, white, kraft, silver, wheat . The most popular accent colour is  Red .   Green  or  Blue  are alternative complimentary colours but avoid using all three unless you have lots of neutral colours and  space to maintain the uncluttered feel. Repeat patterns are another common feature. It's all about light and purity. For texture, opt for natural material such as  wood, straw accessories, tree branches, pine cones, linen ." So - here is my take on the theme Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: White Christmas, Holiday Home, Special Season (retired) Ink: Real Red Card Stock: Whisper White, Real Red Accessories: Dimensionals To place an ...

Good Morning

Image
Hello - did you miss me? Last week was a total washout as I was not very well and was unable to craft much at all. I started to feel better around Thursday - which was good as I had my monthly workshop that night but I haven't really felt 'normal' again till now. My craft room is in a terrible state however I have made a couple of cards - the first of which being this week's DT card for  Make My Monday . The challenge this week is to create a card or project using Autumn/Fall colours - take a look a what I created using a Christmas stamp set Well you can't have Autumn without stags and deer - BBC AutumnWatch have proved that! - and these fine specimens belong to the new White Christmas photopolymer stamp set. The trees and hills also belong to that set but the trees are bare - the leaves have been borrowed from another new set Holiday Home - also photopolymer. If you like to create cards with scenes these sets are for you and at only £13.95 each a...
