Watercolour Trees

Image
I have a card to show you that I made a while ago. It was a technique I learnt at a local craft club. Take a look at the card I will tell all! I used some of the Naturals Ivory card to stamp on as it was the closest to watercolour paper I could find at the time. It's quite porous which is perfect for this technique. My stamp was inked with markers and then spritzed with water and then stamped. It gives a lovely blurred look to the image which worked very well with the tree from Serene Silhouettes and what's so great about this technique is that you get a totally different image every time you do it. The image in the middle was just stamped normally but still using the marker pens. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Loving Thoughts Ink: Early Espresso, Always Artichoke Card Stock: Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Dimentionals (To order any of the above current items or ...

Another Forgotten Card

Image
Here is another one of the cards I found when I was cleaning up my computer folders. It's one of a few I made at a papercraft club I attend. The technique was called Brushless Watercolour and was achieved by colouring a stamp with markers, spritzing it with water and then stamping onto paper. For my card I used the Serene Silhouettes - take a look The colours used are Gumball Green and Crushed Curry. I also added a little gold heat embossing too and I really wish I could remember the DSP I used but I'm sorry I can't be bothered to go into my study and find my catty to look it up - it's very very cold in there! Thanks for popping over to take a look at my blog today, I'm ashamed to say I have a few more 'forgotten' cards waiting to be blogged so please do come back to see them! Bye for now

Challenge #2 in The Male Room

Image
Well I can safely say that the first challenge over in  The Male Room  was a huge success as we had over 100 entries! Challenge no.2 starts today and we have the theme of REFLECTIONS,  Now this could be reflections on water, mirror images or if you are a scrap booker or make memory books perhaps a page looking back reflecting a memory - the choice is yours please just make sure it's male. Here is my card                                  This is the card I made recently for my Son's 20th birthday (I can't believe I have 2 children now in their 20's!). For this card I didn't use my brayer - although you could - I used my sponges to lightly dab the dark ink on to the card stock. The Midnight Muse ink is very dark but using a sponge meant that it could be lightly applied and built up gently to give the effect I was after. My moon was created from a punched post it note  - I made 2 ...
