Time for another Christmas card - well it is that time of year! Today's card is a little festive scene in cool blues and silver - take a look The gorgeous ginormous snowflakes are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets set. My silver tree is heat embossed to give it a frosty feel - did you see that I stamped it upside down to make the shadow? Hope you like it - see you soon - J xx

I've had the Sheltering Tree set for a while now - since the first time I was a Stampin' Up demonstrator - and it's still in the current catalogue - yay! I've not used it much so I thought I'd dig it out and have a play. The challenge I have found for this card is Crafty Cardmakers I decided on a diagonal line: Summer, Stamp or Digi and Embossing wet or dry. This scene depicts a summer meadow with lots of flowers, leafy green trees and children's play things. A swing and a bike were always a part of my summer school holidays! My embossing is of the dry kind. There are some fluffy clouds embossed on the blue background card stock. I really should use this set more - it's so lovely! That's it for today. It's gone 10pm and it's been a long one. I went to hospital to see a rheumatologist and I've been told I have Fibromyalgia, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and flat feet. As the days become longer and warmer we can expect to see hoards of butterflies fluttering around our flowers. It's a beautiful sight and a sign that summer is really here.  I couldn't resist then the challenge over on  The Paper Players I also found the perfect sketch to go with this challenge over on CAS Colours & Sketches Here is my card I had an old Stampin' Up wheelie stamp of butterflies - I didn't have the wheel to attach it to so I removed it from the wheel and use it instead on an acrylic block. I've also cut it up a bit so I have a two line stamp of butterflies and also one line. I've also got a couple of single one too - very handy! I stamped my large butterfly (from Papillon Pot Pourri) with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Coastal Cabana was my colour choice and my sentiment is from Sheltering Tree. Good morning all, hope this horrible rain is not spoiling your day too much! I'm so glad I haven't got to be anywhere today - just spend the day pottering in the dry! Today I have some note cards to share with you made with the Stampin' Up set Sheltering Tree. Four little cards with one layer stamping - take a look I love this set - there's lots of little extras that can be used to create the perfect scene plus the tree can be just bare branches or have leaves or blossom or any colour. Of course now I had the cards - I then needed something to put them in. Out came my envelope punch board and a little envelope package was created This is so quick and easy to make and just needs a bit of ribbon as a finishing touch to keep everything inside neat and tidy Thanks for looking today - hope you'll stop by again soon xx

Last week I held my monthly workshop and we made screen cards. So easy to make but wonderful to decorate - here's one of the samples I took on the night I love creating scenes too - mostly with my brayer but this one was created by sponging ink over torn copy paper. Start off with a light distance slowly getting darker as the foreground comes into focus. Finally add the details - in this case Sheltering Tree.
