Getting Ready for Valentine's Day

Image
Just a very quick post to show you my DT card for  Make My Monday  - the theme this week is Valentine A very simple card that took minutes to create - a heart cut from a post-it-note, place on to the card blank and sponged over with Real Red ink. The post-it-note was removed and pearls were added (coloured with a red blendie). A suitable sentiment was added - simples!!!!!! Thanks for looking xx

MMM - 20th Century Style

Image
Hmmm - this one nearly had me stumped! It's this week's challenge at  Make My Monday  and Marina's choice and actually I think that I made a pretty good attempt at some Pop Art - take a look I went back in time to my A Level art days remembering how I used to love all things Andy Warhol especially his Marilyn Monroe artwork and decided to give the Lotus Blossom the same treatment! I think I even impressed my hubby too - when I told him yesterday that I was going to do a Pop Art card with Stampin' Up stamps he sort of snorted and replies 'good luck with that one' - how rude! He had to eat his words when he saw my card!! So - tell me what you think, I love to read your comments and then please pop over to see the other works of art over on the blog - thanks for looking xx

New Beginnings for Make My Monday

Image
It's time for a new start at  Make My Monday  and this week Fliss has chosen the theme of NEW BEGINNINGS for our challenge. I didn't make a card for this but instead a perpetual calendar - take a look Pieces of mount board were cut to size and stamped on with stamps from last year's Sale-a-bration offer. I used a variety of markers to colour my stamps and overlapped the images. I also stamped more than once before re-inking. I then added the calendar details using the Stampin' Up Project Life Day to Day stamp set. All the elements are separate so can be used for any year. This is going straight on my desk - I'm hoping that it's going to keep me organised this year - maybe help me to get my posts done on time!!!! Thanks for looking - please do take the time to pop on over to the challenge blog and take a look at all the other beautiful creations from the dt.

Make My Monday Nativity

Image
It's the last challenge of the year over at  Make My Monday  and the theme is Nativity - here is my card This was a very quick and easy card to make - after all time is short at this time of the year! A little stamping and gold embossing looks great on navy card stock and the gold bow adds a touch of luxury.  Thanks for looking xx

Christmas Angel

Image
Today at  Make My Monday  the theme is ANGELS. I had this all sussed out when I set this challenge, I had seen the perfect tutorial on YouTube and I was looking forward to making them. However when I came to do all the die cutting the die wouldn't cut the shape completely. I tried several times and then gave up. Sigh. Plan B - take a look (made at 11pm last night as a last resort!) The star card is die cut and the angel is made from a bow template. I added a golden halo and sparkly flower - punched from glimmer paper. These would look nice just with a little twine added to the angel's halo and hung from the Christmas tree - or as place names on the dining table. They can made bigger too! Please do pop over to the blog and take a look at all the other angelic creations from the dt - bye for now xx

MMM - Sprays and Mists

Image
The lovely Laura has chosen our theme this week at  Make My Monday  - Sprays and Mists. Here is my card The only spray or mist I own is a Perfect Pearls one in Gumball Pink but I think I managed to make it look Christmassy! The spray is on the background which is the Hardwood stamp, stamped on to Blushing Bride card stock with Blushing Bride ink. The pearlescent spray was then sprayed on to the background. Thanks for looking - no doubt I shall be back later with my now becoming usual Monday 'catch-up' post! xx

Black and White and a Splash of Red

Image
I have been very naughty lately and have lots of new goodies including these fabulous star stamps and dies which I used for this card for  Make My Monday The Christmas sentiment is from the Endless Wishes set and I really do love the font style they have used - looks great stamped around the edge to frame the star. The centre star is folded so that it stands up from the front of the card. I did this by folding the star so that every point was creased - in between the points also have a fold. All you do then is make sure that every crease on a point is a mountain fold and every crease in between is a valley fold. Pile up a few dimensionals in the middle so the star can't be squished. Not good for posting I know but great if it's being hand delivered. The star stamp set is called Bright and Beautiful and is in the Holiday Mini - co-ordinating star dies can be found in the main catalogue. Email me on deezinesart@icloud.com for more information. Thanks for looking xx ...

Get Your Sparkle On at Make My Monday

The theme of this week's challenge at  Make My Monday  is GLITTER. Vintage

Image
We have a VINTAGE challenge going on this week at  Make My Monday  - not a theme I'm most comfortable with but here goes Again I'm attempting this with my ipad so the photo is not very special! However it's really easy to list the materials for this card - Blushing Bride is the colour and Lovely Romance is the stamp set, plus a bit of seam binding ribbon. Thanks for looking and a big HI to my new followers - it's great to have you here. Back home soon so normal blogging will resume! Bye for now - xx

MMM - Shabby Chic

Image
I think I'm actually going to be on time for a challenge for a change! Today at  Make My Monday  the lovely Suzi B would like to see SHABBY CHIC cards and projects. I'm not a huge fan of this but I must say I did have fun making this card - take a look I've used a couple of retired items - the dress form die cut and the ribbon flowers, and the pink ribbon was some I've had in my stash for ages but the rest is Stampin' Up. Daydream Medallions, Kraft, Crumb Cake and Pear Pizzazz card stock, leaves from Kinda Eclectic and the scallops were made by stamping and punching loads of little hearts from the Kind and Cosy stamp set - they were attached using Tombow glue to the underside of the card stock. Don't forget to pop over to the blog to take a look at all the other DT cards - there's loads more shabby-ness over there! Bye for now x

Who Lives in a House Like This?

Image
I am just loving the new Holiday Home stamp set from Stampin' Up, it's really useful for quick one layer cards like this Which is lucky 'cos this is my card for the new challenge over on  Make My Monday . The theme is Halloween - can you tell which house is haunted? The images were all stamped in a basic black ink and a moon was sponged through a post it note mask with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink - you have to use Pumpkin Pie ink on all Halloween cards - it's the law! It is very Autumnal here now and my garden is full of fallen leaves - it makes a very pretty carpet of reds, yellows and oranges. It's my favourite time of year and I love to paint Autumn leaves - just like this one in fact I painted this a few years ago but found it framed and forgotten in an old cupboard. I'm sorting out all my painting gear as I am thinking of starting to paint again and this was at the back of the cupboard where I keep my paints, brushes and paper ...

Numbers

Image
The challenge this week at  Make My Monday  is numbers. I recently did a card class where we made number cards and here is one of the cards we made I'd made some number templates - large and small so that they 'nested' and the large ones formed both ends of the card. The word comes from the Project Life Day to Day photopolymer set and the baubles are from the now retired Holiday Ornaments set. There is actually loads of glitter on the baubles but the light hasn't been right for taking photos so it doesn't show up. Thanks for looking - see you soon xx

Die Cuts & Punches

Image
It's my turn to pick the theme over at  Make My Monday  and I have chosen - DIE CUTS & OR PUNCHES. it can be just one of the two or both - it's up to you. I used both on my card - take a look I CASE'd the idea for my image from a card on Pinterest by  Darlene Designs  and I think it turned out very well - the images are from Stippled Blossoms and the two stamped layers are blended with an aqua painter. My main panel uses die cuts while the accents either side are a punched shape that has been folded in half and and attached to the DSP layer. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Stippled Blossoms Ink: Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Card Stock: Kraft, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush Paper: Subtles DSP (retired) Accessories: Big Shot, Apothecary Accents, Mosaic Punch, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls.
