Happy New Year!!!

Image
Hello and Happy New Year greetings from Bridgnorth! This is my first post of the year and my card is for the very first challenge for a brand new challenge blog. Rainbow Challenge Blog I am so happy to be a part of this new venture and even happier to be working alongside my beautiful friend Mynnette again. Many years ago now Mynnette and I started up the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and although we are no longer a part of that we had a great time working together and I am chuffed to bits to be doing so again. We also have a fab design team and I do urge you to pop across to the blog to take a look at all the wonderful work they have produced for the first challenge - which is .......... Now this is the Rainbow Card Challenge and your card should only use the colour that is stated in the challenge banner however, if you are adding flowers a little green can be added for the flower stems. Right  - here is my card My red ink and card stock is Poppy Parad...

Clean and Simple Butterflies

Image
As the days become longer and warmer we can expect to see hoards of butterflies fluttering around our flowers. It's a beautiful sight and a sign that summer is really here.  I couldn't resist then the challenge over on  The Paper Players I also found the perfect sketch to go with this challenge over on CAS Colours & Sketches Here is my card I had an old Stampin' Up wheelie stamp of butterflies - I didn't have the wheel to attach it to so I removed it from the wheel and use it instead on an acrylic block. I've also cut it up a bit so I have a two line stamp of butterflies and also one line. I've also got a couple of single one too - very handy! I stamped my large butterfly (from Papillon Pot Pourri) with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Coastal Cabana was my colour choice and my sentiment is from Sheltering Tree. Hope you like my card today - thanks for stopping by and taking a look. See you soo...

Freshly Made for Mother's Day

Image
So yesterday in the UK it was Mother's Day and being a card maker I made my mum a card. I followed the sketch over on  Freshly Made Sketches I love that there is a butterfly shape on the sketch and it inspired me to make this card I used the enormous Swallowtail stamp along with some Papillon Potpourri and if I remember rightly my sentiment is from Delightful Dozen. My colours are Crushed Curry and Lost Lagoon. Thanks for looking - see you soon x

Serene Silhouette in Gold

Image
Yikes - time is going so quick this week and yet again I am running out of time to enter the challenge over on  CAS - Colours & Sketches . This week they have a sketch for us I've flipped and rotated the sketch and gone with a very Clean and Simple design - take a look My image is from Serene Silhouettes and is stamped on to a label cut on my Big Shot using the Apothecary Accents dies. The butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri and both images have been heat embossed in gold. Thanks for looking - see you soon xx

Birthday Poppies

Image
Here is a birthday card I made recently It was a fun card to make and it's inspired by one I found on Pinterest  HERE . I changed a few of the images and added the butterflies but the layout is the same. Mossy Meadow was used to sponge the background and stamp the leaves while Night of Navy was used to stamp the background poppies. The main poppies were coloured with markers as were the butterflies - they were cut out using a punch. I cut the flowers out by hand. A Sassy Salutations sentiment was added to finish it off. Hope you like it - see you soon xx
