A Little Christmas Crafting

So I'm back to crafting now. I gave my crafting area a bit of a clean up yesterday and got down to a bit of card making.
Now normally at this time of the year I have a nice pile of Christmas cards made as I used to design for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. Sadly I had to give that up but I do miss making Christmas cards and using all my gorgeous Chritmassy stamps.
So I decided to make one using the theme from this weeks 52{C}CT 'Snowman'. Here is my card


Although this looks quite clean and simple it took ages to make! This is also the second attempt as the first went a bit wrong! I stamped the snowy ground first using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. The snowman from White Christmas was stamped, coloured and embossed too so that I could make a mask and sponge the blue background. Some gems were added for stars and a simple greeting from Good Greetings to finish it off.

Dad's funeral was earlier this week so things are still a bit strange. Me and mum are trying to find a new normal now but we still have a lot to sort out - you know clothes and books etc. Hopefully that won't take too long because we've booked ourselves a holiday for the end of August to help recharge our batteries!!

Love the swoosh of embossed snow, the lovely sponged background, the glimmer of stars and the pop of the red - great work. Yikes - I'm a bit late posting today, but when I got into my studio this morning I had forgotten that it looked like this I had a big family lunch yesterday and 'cos our house is so small, I have to keep stuff moving from room to room in order for there to be enough space. So I got to work straight away and now my desk looks like this There is a hidiously green magnetic board complete with snail magnets that I won in a raffle - just right for altering, some wooden drawer knobs onto which I will attach some foam to use with my disress inks and my chipboard albums from last week that I didn't get round to doing. It's a One Layer challenge this week at  Less is More  with the added extra of things in 3's - here is my card And here's how I made it: Post it notes to mask off a square and to make my 3 clouds 3 blues to stamp my images: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Pacific Point. 3 Balloons from Up, Up and Away plus 3 birds flying in the sky 3 little words - just for you - from Just Believe. Starting the Year with a Christmas Card

 I have decided to try and get on top of my Christmas cards early this year and so far it’s going well!!! Here is a card that has been made using the Sweet Gingerbread set - I love gingerbread houses and the stamps and matching dies are really cute. I used the sketch from  52 Christmas Card Throwdown  - this is a brilliant Christmas challenge blog (I started it many years ago with Mynn Kitchen) and it’s a perfect way to get organised with Christmas crafting.
