Hand Made Flowers
Today's challenge at Polka Doodles is all about hand made flowers - punched, die cut, stamped or decoupaged.
I love making flowers and spent a long time this morning making some roses
However when it actually came to putting these flowers on my card - they just didn't look right. So they have been shelved and the rest chucked in the bin. Back to the drawing board!
The card I made was inspired by one of my favourite bloggers - Vicky - I didn't copy it but just used the general layout
My hand made flowers were stamped using Stampin' Up Growing Green. I stamped them onto decorative paper and cut them out. I then stamped them again and just used the middles attaching them with some 3D foam. The leafy fronds are from the same set and coloured with a Pear Pizzazz marker. The sentiment is from Vintage Vogue. I am much happier about this card - hope you like it - Jacqueline xx

A really gorgeous card Jacqueline and your stamped flowers look lovely as does the background.
ReplyDeleteYour roses look gorgeous too so hope you can use them soon.
Thanks for joining in with my Polka Doodles handmade flowers challenge too and good luck.
Hugs, Fliss xx
I really like making these 3D flowers and have done them in various sizes (quite addictive) but I do find them a little bulky for cards. Even the tiny ones made with a flower punch just under an inch are still quite deep when made so I know what you mean about them not looking right. I like the card you made in the end.
ReplyDeleteGrowing Green is one of my fave sets and you've made a lovely card with it, fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow, your 3d roses look absolutely amazing! I'm so sorry you didn't feel they looked right on your card. Hope you find they're the perfect fit for another project - a gift box maybe?
I admire your patience in making 3d flowers - it drives me barmy and leads to bad language for me I'm afraid LOL!
Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your work at Polka Doodles! Thanks for joining us!
