Tutorial Tuesday - To a Wild Rose Penny Slider Card

Image
Today's post is a tutorial on making a Penny Slider card - very easy to do and very effective. Let's go! Gather a few items - card base, coloured and white card stock, inks and a stamp set with large floral images. I used To a Wild Rose. Take your card base and mat and layer coloured and white card stock. Next take a piece of card stock and create a piece to cover at least half of the card front - the wavy line is optional - you can leave it straight if you wish. Now we are going to make a small slot - use a die, punch or do it just by eye but the width must be narrower than your penny. I did mine with a circle punch: punch the holes at the ends of the slot and connect them using a craft knife. Now it's time to do some stamping. Add a background to your card and then make some elements to add to the front of your card and most importantly the things that you want to be able to slide. I want my sentiment to slide and I will also add the bu

Retired Stash Saturday - Fabulous Flamingo Birthday Card

Image
Today's card uses one of the sets that recently retired - one that I'm not ready to let go of just yet! It's Fabulous Flamingo and today I've teamed it up with the Tropical Chic set - still available. So this card is mad up of several layers. The first is a Pale pink card stock on to which I have matted a layer of white. This has been stamped with green inks and the leaves from the Tropical Chic set. On to this I have layered a piece of vellum. This has been die cut with one of the dies from the tropical Dies set. Finally the flamingo was stamped and fussy cut and added along with some die cut flowers and leaves. I love flamingos so I can see this set remaining a favourite for a very long time! See you soon - J xx

Fancy Fold Friday - Free as a Bird Never Ending Card

Image
Today I have a card to show you that I made for a Facebook swap a while ago. It's a Never Ending Card: it opens and folds in a continuous manner giving it the name "Never Ending" This is the front of the card which opens down the middle This is the next piece - this one opens horizontally across the middle As the card continues this bit opens across the middle again where the two large squares meet. This is my favourite bit and this opens down the middle This is the last bit but this just opens across the middle for it all to start again! For this project I used the gorgeous Free as a Bird set. Although it is primarily a bird set it does have some beautiful floral images as you can see above. Also they are perfect for colouring with your Blends. There are lots of videos on Youtube for you to follow to make this card and it is pretty easy too. Hopefully you will have a go and I will see you soon - J xx

Perennial Essence Follow Up

Image
Following on from my Spotlight post yesterday I have a card to show you using the Perennial Essence DSP - take a look Calypso Coral is a perfect match for this paper and my Floral Essence flowers were stamped with it and then fussy cut to create a cluster. The Paper formed the background along with the Calypso Coral card stock. Also used was the Leaf Punch and Mossy Meadow ink and although this looks fairly OK for the front of the card - just take a look inside More flowers and leaves were made and mounted on to pop-out panels to create this wow card. It folds flat when the card is closed so it's really good for posting. Check out the whole Perennial Essence Suite in the catalogue in my side bar - there's 10% off some of the bundles. Hope you enjoyed today's card - see you soon - J xx

Only a Week Late!!!

Image
Good morning all from a very sunny and warm Bridgnorth! So today I have a card to share with you that is my DT card for the  Rainbow Card Challenge which as the title suggests is a week late! My card was extremely quick to make and uses one of the new hostess sets Soft Spring. As my Wisteria is enjoying a second flush of flowers this card is rather apt don't you think? So a quick stamp in Basic Gray for the flowers and sentiment (Colourful Seasons) and a colour in with Highland Heather Blends (dark and light).  There's still loads of time to take part in the challenge as it lasts for a month so get on over and take a look. So the reason I'm late with this post is because I have have embarked on a new project. Unfortunately I'm not as able to multi task as i used to - fibro fog has put paid to that - but I'm finding it very exciting. I've been a member of some card swap groups on Facebook for some time but recently I decided
