Making Ribbon Masculine

Well that's a tall order - all the men I know would not appreciate having ribbon on their cards. However a bit of burlap perhaps?? What do you think?


The card was one I made a while ago when I was asked to demonstrate masks at a local craft club. It's one I borrowed so I don't know the make - sorry.
The mask was placed on to Kraft card stock and I sponged over it with Stampin' Up's Craft White ink.
Early Espresso was used to stamp the leaves and the tiny wooden acorn was attached with a strand of the burlap ribbon.
This is the theme of the challenge over in The Male Room and I really do look forward to seeing what everyone else does to 'Make Ribbon Masculine'!

    I think burlap is perfect ribbon for a man - I couldn't use it though 'cos I didn't have any! Its on order now though!

Yikes - I'm a bit late posting today, but when I got into my studio this morning I had forgotten that it looked like this I had a big family lunch yesterday and 'cos our house is so small, I have to keep stuff moving from room to room in order for there to be enough space. So I got to work straight away and now my desk looks like this There is a hidiously green magnetic board complete with snail magnets that I won in a raffle - just right for altering, some wooden drawer knobs onto which I will attach some foam to use with my disress inks and my chipboard albums from last week that I didn't get round to doing. It's a One Layer challenge this week at  Less is More  with the added extra of things in 3's - here is my card And here's how I made it: Post it notes to mask off a square and to make my 3 clouds 3 blues to stamp my images: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Pacific Point. 3 Balloons from Up, Up and Away plus 3 birds flying in the sky 3 little words - just for you - from Just Believe. Starting the Year with a Christmas Card

 I have decided to try and get on top of my Christmas cards early this year and so far it’s going well!!! Here is a card that has been made using the Sweet Gingerbread set - I love gingerbread houses and the stamps and matching dies are really cute. I used the sketch from  52 Christmas Card Throwdown  - this is a brilliant Christmas challenge blog (I started it many years ago with Mynn Kitchen) and it’s a perfect way to get organised with Christmas crafting.
