A Fond Farewell.
Yesterday I left my little girl at University - after weeks of chaos of her attempting to 'pack' and a final week of last minute shopping, packing and farewell parties she is there.
She is actually at Aberystwth (bet I've spelt that wrong!) Uni about to start a maths degree and we left quite early in glorious sunshine but as we drove deeper into Wales the clouds descended and in was pouring when we arrived. It took us ages to meet up with her as we had gone in separate cars but we eventually met up and found her room at the top of a hill - we had parked at the bottom. Many journeys later the cars were unpacked and we were very wet! With luck everything fitted in her room - just, and we left late afternoon - both Mother and Daughter in tears (still am actually as I write this). However got halfway home and received text 'met up with a flat mate - going out for a night on the town' - no change there then!
So I have a very sore back this morning and I can feel a long hot soak in the bath coming on and i will leave you with a couple of pictures of my beautiful Briony officially flown from the nest.

Hi Jacqueline, I got a really big surprise when I saw your post as my eldest nephew who's called Justyn Goodwin has also just started at the same uni. My brother in law took him over there on Friday and I can't remember what he's studying at the moment so will let you know when I find out.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's a small world!
Hope you're feeling a bit better now, I do know what it's like as my younger one went back to Kingston yesterday.
Hugs, Fliss xx
It is a sad moment but happy too as you know they are making their way in the world. You will need a rest after all the removal work.
ReplyDeleteMy sister also went to Aberystwyth and had a wonderful time. But oh Jacqueline - I'm sending you a huge bloggy hug because it must be so hard to leave your baby girl (I know, I know - she's completely grown up!) out in the big world. But it will all be okay! Vx
