Die Cuts & Punches

Image
It's my turn to pick the theme over at  Make My Monday  and I have chosen - DIE CUTS & OR PUNCHES. it can be just one of the two or both - it's up to you. I used both on my card - take a look I CASE'd the idea for my image from a card on Pinterest by  Darlene Designs  and I think it turned out very well - the images are from Stippled Blossoms and the two stamped layers are blended with an aqua painter. My main panel uses die cuts while the accents either side are a punched shape that has been folded in half and and attached to the DSP layer. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Stippled Blossoms Ink: Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Card Stock: Kraft, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush Paper: Subtles DSP (retired) Accessories: Big Shot, Apothecary Accents, Mosaic Punch, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls. I love making cards that can take all day to make - lots of layers, colouring and embellishing but I'm also glad that I'm able to make cards in a matter of minutes too! Fabulous images that go together perfectly - here's my card So there you have it - it took less than 20 minutes to make (good job too 'cos I was running late with the challenge again!!!!) A Nordic Christmas Card

Image
At the  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  this week the them is to make a Nordic Christmas card Don't know what that is .... read on "Simply put, it's rustic, minimalist, cool, cozy, calm and peaceful. That means  Natural  and  Neutral  tones such as  wood, black, white, kraft, silver, wheat . The most popular accent colour is  Red .   Green  or  Blue  are alternative complimentary colours but avoid using all three unless you have lots of neutral colours and  space to maintain the uncluttered feel. Repeat patterns are another common feature. It's all about light and purity. For texture, opt for natural material such as  wood, straw accessories, tree branches, pine cones, linen ." So - here is my take on the theme Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: White Christmas, Holiday Home, Special Season (retired) Ink: Real Red Card Stock: Whisper White, Real Red Accessories: Dimensionals To place an order for Stampin' Up products please e

Good Morning

Image
Hello - did you miss me? Last week was a total washout as I was not very well and was unable to craft much at all. I started to feel better around Thursday - which was good as I had my monthly workshop that night but I haven't really felt 'normal' again till now. The trees and hills also belong to that set but the trees are bare - the leaves have been borrowed from another new set Holiday Home - also photopolymer. If you like to create cards with scenes these sets are for you and at only £13.95 each a

CAS - Sketch Time

Image
So - feeling a little unwell today. It always seems to happen when I come home from Mum's. It's been a full on couple of weeks visiting Dad in hospital every day, dealing with nursing staff and care workers - which were totally brilliant. And also helping Mum sort the house out. They've had builders in recently and furniture has needed to be moved and re-arranged plus making room for all the medical equipment Dad needs around him when he is not in hospital. I've come home and the momentum has gone - nothing to rush around for and so I've flopped a bit and I'm feeling tired and a little sad really. However there are still challenges to attend to and cards to be made especially today as Louise has a fab sketch for us to follow over on  CAS - Colours & Sketches  - take a look This is such a lovely sketch lending itself to many possibilities - why not try rotating or flipping it? I however stayed true to the sketch and created a quick and easy Christmas

Lovely Romance Collection.

There have been a lot of ups and downs this year and unfortunately I have had to cancel a couple of my monthly workshops. For one I already had the samples made up and photographed but I haven't yet shared them on my blog. So I thought that I'd share them today. I used the set Lovely Romance. It has some lovely images which co-ordinate very well with last year's In Colours A lot of piccies I know - I got a little carried away with the versatility of the stamps - hope you enjoyed looking at them! Make My Monday Indian Summer

Image
The lovely Fliss has chosen the theme of Indian Summer for this week's challenge at  Make My Monday  she would like to see hot vivid colours on your cards and projects just like a late summer garden. Here is my card   So - I am doing this on my iPad while I wait to be picked up to go and see my dad in hospital. We were called in last night as he was very agitated but after we left he got worse and he has now been transferred to Telford hospital where there are better facilities. Means quite a long journey both ways so it's quite tiring too. Please leave me a quick comment - it's nice to know are crafters out there reading my blog - I need a bit of cheering up too! xx
