Dusting off the Bird Punch

Image
It's been a while since I've used my 2 step bird punch but I still love it! Today's card features the aforementioned bird on his little branch amongst some pretty flowers and a beautiful blue sky complete with fluffy white clouds - take a look I used an embossing folder in my Big Shot to create the sky, the clouds were punched used the Cupcake Builder punch. This card will be entered in to the following challenges: Make My Monday Challenge # 43 Embossing (Heat or Dry CAS(E) this sketch Right - I'm off to work now - shame 'cos the sun is shining and I received a lovely package of Clarity Stamps yesterday. Guess those will have to wait for another day now. See you soon x

First Christmas Card of the Year!

Image
I love making Christmas cards and the great thing is you can make them all year round and be nice an organised when December comes! Today's card is a very sparkly shaker card - take a look The shaker is made from nesting star dies cut on the Big Shot and filled with glitter and micro beads. Glitter paper has been used for the round panel and then my sentiment has been heat embossed onto a strip of navy card stock. I shall be entering this card into two challenges: Christmas Card Throwdown Freshly Made Sketches It's a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK but unfortunately I am working - all weekend and Monday - insert sad face here! I am hoping though to get in a little crafting tomorrow afternoon so I hope you will join me then and I do hope that you all have a great weekend - see you soon x

WOYWW - A Bit of Beading

Image
I'm a bit late to the party today, a trip to the doctors followed by a spot of lunch followed by a visit to my dad's grave to lay some flowers for Easter. It's a very peaceful spot but today it was very cold and blowy - hope my flowers don't blow away! So I'm back now and ready to do a bit of beading, here's what's on my work desk today So the necklace hasn't grown much, my joints haven't been too good lately - hence the trip to the drs. Just a couple more inches should do the trick and then I can add the clasp. Meanwhile I have just received a package of new beads ready to make some sparkly earrings and also a boho bracelet. Do pop over to Julia's blog  The Stamping Ground  - it's a fantastic excuse to be nosey and look around a whole host of lovely work desks! Bye for now xx

Layered Stamping

Image
I've always loved those stamp sets that allow you to create a more dimensional image and my card today uses one such stamp set: Stippled Blossoms from Stampin' Up. It's a two part image starting with a light background onto which darker detail can be added. The same applies to the leaves too. Here is my card I've also added a few Gorgeous Grunge splats and some washi tape to complete this card and my circle is attached with 3D foam pads. I will be entering this card into this week's challenge over on Just Us Girls Well that's it for today, the sun is shining and I have a whole day off work - my craft room is calling so I'm off to play. See you soon xx

Swallowtail Butterfly Card

Image
So I'm having a quick coffee break before starting on the Sunday roast and I've got a card to share with you - take a look I love this stamp - it's huge! Today I have stamped only half and coloured it with markers: Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Pacific Point. I also added a bit of Gorgeous Grunge - it's hiding a smudge I made with my finger!!! I will be entering this card into two challenges: CAS Colours & Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More That's it for today - I'm off now to see to my leg of lamb. Mmmmm - I love Sundays, especially when I'm not working - a rare occurrence! Bye for now xx

A Spring Card

Image
So, I have now taken up residence in my Summer craft room AKA the garage and I have been happily crafting. Today's card uses some pretty spring-like colours inspired by this week's  Color Throwdown  challenge and the layout is using last Monday's sketch from  Mojo Monday . Here is my card I'm a little rusty on my Stampin' Up colours but I think I've used So Saffron, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi. The paper is long retired as is the stamp set and the those names do escape me! I pleated the ribbon with some silk ribbon and added a bow and gems to finish it off. That's all for today - see you soon xx
