Animal, Avian or Aquarian

Image
Or in other words - Animal, Bird or Fish/Underwater. That's this week's new challenge over in  The Male Room Now you have to choose one or the other not a mixture and if possible make your whole project reflect the theme - the rules are better explained over on the blog so please do pop over and check. So that being said my card is all about the underwater fishy things - take a look I made this card a while ago and was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest - however I've since lost my link and now can't find it to give it credit - sorry. The fish was stamped onto card stock and then masked with a post it note and the background script added. The square was then cut leaving the tail to be fussy cut so it hung over the side. The seahorse and shell were both fussy cut and attached using dimensionals. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: By the Tide Ink: Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse Accessories: Dim

Another Kick Stand Card

Image
I posted a card a couple of days ago that I demo'd at my last workshop. It was a Kick Stand card and you can go back and see it  HERE  - or you could hang around here a little longer and take a look at the other Kick Stand card that I made today Don't you just love these earthy tones along side the new Soft Sky? Perfect too with the lovely new Wetlands set. It also seemed the perfect opportunity to get out the Fine Feathers again - I've used them to create the background on the top flap. This card actually came about after another demo I did showing off printing with an acrylic block. It's very easy - just add ink straight from the pad directly to the block - huff on it a few times and then press down onto the card stock - here's what I made Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Fine Feathers Ink: Soft Sky, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke Card Stock: Naturals White, Whisper White, Soft

JOINING MY TEAM

Image
How would you like to join my Stampin' Up team? We are a very small and select group at the moment but would welcome some new members, and now is a great time to think about joining. I'm coming up to the end of my first year of demonstrating and it's been a blast. I've made new friends and done what every demonstrator strives to do: Now I have lots of info above in the  TOP TABS  and you should read that (it's also where you need to go to sign up) but here are some other points you may want to consider. Being a demonstrator is great for working from home, it's perfect for fitting around family life making it enjoyable and convenient. It has relatively low start up costs and it's easy to meet the minimum sales requirements. Stampin' Up let you choose the products for your starter kit - choose wisely and you could start and continue your business for as little as £99 - take a look at this pdf for products ideas  HERE . I can sing a rainbow

Image
I used to love that song as a child - can't remember the words though now! Rainbow is the theme of this week's challenge at  CAS - Colours & Sketches  - it's Karen's choice of challenge and here's what she wants to see: Rainbows are my favorite color! With the graphic above, my intent was to show that you could do any value: pastel, bright, or jewel. I'm also looking forward to seeing all the ways you can interpret this "color". As long as the card has 5 or more different colors, it counts! The colors don't have to be arranged like a rainbow, you can just use lots of colors on the card. Here is my card I've used all the colours of the rainbow to create my card - hope you like it. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Butterfly Collection (wheel), Petite Pairs Inks: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise, Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder Card Stock: Whisper White,

Make My Monday - Childhood Memories

Image
We are almost half way through this week's challenge at  Make My Monday  and this week the theme is 'Childhood Memories' My card on first appearance my not seem very childish but the images do bring back many fond memories for me. Both my Granddads were gardeners and both grew huge amounts of bedding plants which by this time of the year would be blooming madly. My favourites were always the marigolds and more specifically the french marigolds - take a look These stamps I believe are more likely to be scabious flowers however inked with the gold and red do look very much like the marigolds from my memories. I remember too my one Granddad in his greenhouse collecting the seeds from the dead flower heads and the smell was amazing! Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Field Flowers, Nature Walk (retired) Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip Card Stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler Accessories: Dimensionals (To order an
