Updates and Weekly Deals

Image
Just a quick update to tell you that I will not be blogging much during the next few days. Dad is in the critical care unit after suffering a major setback in his recovery. It was so scary as we nearly lost him twice. He is a lot more stable now we are just waiting to find out what went wrong as it is baffling the Drs at the moment. Would just like to add how amazing all the nursing staff are, not only towards dad who is their main priority, but to us too - they are brilliant. If I have a spare few minutes (as I do now) I may add Stampin' Up updates although I am not making any cards. One such update is that during the month of April Stampin' Up have introduced some 'Weekly Deals' Click  HERE  to take you to my shop where you can find all the details plus place that all important order! I may also be popping in from time to time to show you some of the things I have made for my parties and workshops however a great deal of time is taken up with hospital vi

Serene Silhouettes

Image
The car I have to show you today is another from the archives! I made it months ago and never got around to blogging it - take a look My Very Vanilla card base was stamped with Vesamark ink and then heat set with gold embossing powder. The panel on top was created by inking up my stamp with markers and spraying with water before stamping - it gives an unusual effect don't you think. Crushed Curry and Gumball Green are my colours of choice this time. SERENE SILHOUETTES CLEAR-MOUNT STAMP SET Price :  £17.95 GOLD STAMPIN' EMBOSS POWDER Price :  £3.95 (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart@icloud.com - a catalogue pdf can be found in the side bar along with the NEW SPRING/SUMMER MINI. Pretty Pegs

Image
A while ago I decorated some wooden pegs with some of the pretty papers that Stampin' Up has to offer. I added magnets to the back of them so that they could be used as memo holders on fridges or other magnetic items - take a look I thought that they would make a lovely gift all together so I made some packaging to match. And really if it's going to be  gift for somebody there should be a matching card too The flowers are made with the fab air-drying clay that is also from Stampin' Up - it's so versatile as you can make it any colour just by adding a few drops of re-inker or colouring it with a marker pen when it's dry. I really haven't used it enough and as soon as I am home will definitely be getting it out again! 1 Stamp 5 Ways

Image
The photos I am going to share with you today were taken a long time ago and the samples were made to demonstrate to a group of ladies at a local craft group. I only took one stamp with me to show them some of the different ways one stamp could be used - it worked as I received a few orders! The stamp was Pleasant Poppies Now of course you could just stamp it onto card stock and mount onto a card blank and that would give us 6 ways but I used the Triple Time Stamping technique and this was the first sample No colouring just basic stamping, matting and layering - looks pretty good. Here's sample number 2 The same card, matted onto a different colour card stock, coloured and embellished - the same stamp but a totally different card. Sample number 3 is a bookmark There are two layers of the green card stock joined together at the back with a scoreline near the top. In between the layers is a small magnet which holds the bookmark in place in your book

CAS Colour Challenge

Image
Now that Spring is on it's way it's maybe time for some pretty floral cards and as I was choosing the colours this week over on  CAS - Colours & Sketches  I was thinking pale pinks and soft greens - why then did I spoil it all by adding dark brown?????? Anyway for the die hard crafters among you here are the actual colours And here is my card. (Remember that Stampin' Up colours are not compulsory - the nearest you have in your stash will do just as well). This really is a rubbish photo - but I loved how this card evolved. I only had tiny scraps of Early Espresso in my stash and this lovely circle so that was the starting point. I die cut the lattice and then as my pink flowers did not show up very well on the white I added an embossed oval to the middle. I'm thinking I may use this for Easter as the middle looks rather like a cross. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Petite Petals Ink: Pink Pirouette Card Stock: Whisper White, Early Espress

"You built a time machine......out of a DeLorean?"

Image
This is one of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite films - I also had a huge crush on Michael J Fox back then too! So really I don't know why it took me so long to figure out what I was going to do for this week's SCI - FI challenge over in  The Male Room . It was also very fortuitous that crafty friend Louise was around at mine having a play and had in her bag Rev Up The Fun - check it out - it's a fab set. Here is my card For anyone not familiar with the film the car drives until it reaches 88 miles per hour and then goes back in time to the date set. I just love the flames coming from the exhaust pipe. Materials - Stampin' Up (except die cut numbers) Stamps: Rev up the Fun Ink: Basic Grey, Smoky Slate,Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Basic Grey Accessories: Dimensionals (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart@icloud.com - a catalogue pdf can
