Hand Made Flowers

Image
I saw the challenge over on  Less is More  this morning and I decided to have a play. Time has been taken up so much lately with workshops, classes and DT cards so it was so good to make a card 'just because'. The theme of the challenge is HAND MADE FLOWERS and I have been having a play with some of the clay and moulds now available through Stampin' Up - here's what I have made The white clay is pressed into silicone moulds - removed and then left to air dry. You can add colour to the flowers using markers after they have dried or if you have any of the re-inkers add a few drops to the wet clay before pressing into the moulds. My flowers have also been mounted on to the Flower Fusion die cuts and some of the Little Leaves have been added too. Materials Used - Stampin' Up Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Morning Meadow Ink: Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe (re-inker) Card Stock: Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding Accessories: Big Shot, Little Leaves, Flower Fusion,

A Non Inked Stamp

Image
Apparently some crafters buy stamps and then never use them! That's why Caz has chosen this challenge for us this week at  Make My Monday  - just dig out those stamps or in fact Decoupage Sheets that have never seen ink or scissors and get crafting. Now I do find it very difficult when I buy stamps not to get them out and ink them up straight away - I'm very impatient like that however, I did manage to find a WHOLE SET of stamps that had never been inked!! It's a set that goes way back to the Sale-a-bration time and is called Bloomin' Marvellous - take a look I have used 3 of the new In Colours on this card - how gorgeous are these yummy colours - just like ice cream! I love my Modern Label punch too - and I like that when you punch it in a co-ordinating card stock, cut it in half  - it fits very neatly behind the sentiment. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Bloomin' Marvellous Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding Card Stoc

The challenge this week is to use these fabulous colours Now we do have some very strict rules when it comes to our colour challenges so please do check them out before you link up - of course we would never delete a card from our challenge but if you would like to be considered for an Honorable Mention (and who wouldn't?) you must follow the rules. Ok - enough talk - here is my card This is my favourite style of card - I love squares and repeating patterns so much! My ribbon is seam binding and I applied my double sided tape to the card first and then ruffled my ribbon as I went along - love this effect too. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Pines & Poinsettias Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler

Crumb Cake Christmas Card

Image
The very Patricia is hosting this month's challenges at  52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown  and she kicks off with this fab sketch This is such a lovely sketch - you can really go to town with backing papers and layers or keep it clean and simple - here's what I did with it Now I don't know if any of you have had the chance to peruse the new catalogue (sneakily placed in my side bar) but you may have noticed the lack of Christmas stamp sets so I'm afraid I've had to resort to a retired set - Come to Bethlehem. Make and Take

Image
Before I launch into my post can I just say - look at my fab new blog design!!! I had it specially designed for me by fellow SU demonstrator and Pinkie Catherine Carroll. She is going to add a link here to her site soon so do watch out for that. Now this time last week I was preparing for my catalogue launch Open House Event. I love to spoil my customers so the first thing I did with them when they arrived was sit them down to a free Make and Take - here it is I don't know if you can quite see in the photo but the black CS has been embossed in the Mosaic embossing folder making it super easy to add the mosaic punched tiles. How do you like the pop of yellow - it's a new colour called Crushed Curry - I love it! I've also used another new colour - Smoky Slate - also gorgeous! My lovely ladies also had a lucky dip on the day and a choice of retiring sets to purchase too plus a free gift for all orders over £25 on the day - I think they all went home happy! Materials -

Christmas in July

Image
Today at  Make My Monday  we have a fab new challenge set for us by DT lady Laura - she wants to see some Christmas Cards - come and see mine I was greatly inspired by Vicky's card  HERE  when I made this - I took her idea of the hanging mosaic shape and expanded a little - they do make lovely little baubles don't they? And guess what? Tomorrow the BRAND NEW Stampin' Up catalogue goes live and you can order them along with the co-ordinating punch in a special bundle. As I do with most of my Christmas cards I used the now legendary Lovely as a Tree pine tree too with a sparkly star added to the top. Just the two colours were used - Riding Hood Red (now retired) and Garden Green. Have fun creating your Christmas cards this week and I will see you soon - Jacqueline xx
