Watercolour Trees

Image
I have a card to show you that I made a while ago. It was a technique I learnt at a local craft club. Take a look at the card I will tell all! I used some of the Naturals Ivory card to stamp on as it was the closest to watercolour paper I could find at the time. It's quite porous which is perfect for this technique. My stamp was inked with markers and then spritzed with water and then stamped. It gives a lovely blurred look to the image which worked very well with the tree from Serene Silhouettes and what's so great about this technique is that you get a totally different image every time you do it. The image in the middle was just stamped normally but still using the marker pens. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Serene Silhouettes, Loving Thoughts Ink: Early Espresso, Always Artichoke Card Stock: Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Dimentionals (To order any of the above current items or

It's a new challenge at  Make My Monday  and this week Rosie has chosen BIRDS for our theme. I had to get up at 7am this morning to make this card - I hate getting up early so I do hope you like my card - please take a look My background was created directly onto the card base - I masked off the middle so I could sponge my scene and then masked that while I stamped my feathers above and below. My main panel was also sponged and the bird was cut out separately and attached with dimensions before being carefully lined up with the background (actually that happened by accident and I didn't notice it 'till I just looked at my photo!!) Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Fine Feathers, Simply Sketched Ink: Soft Sky, Midnight Muse, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Dimensionals (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on dee

Embossing for Make My Monday

Image
Over at  Make My Monday  Laura is our first Hostess of the year and she has chosen EMBOSSING for our challenge this week. I've used loads on my card - dry embossing with a folder through the Big Shot and some gold and clear embossing using my heat gun. I also went outside of my comfort zone a little for this one and I'm still not sure whether I like it or not - the idea worked anyway - take a look I managed to make the ink look wet by using some clear embossing powder I used a Versamark pen and repeated the process about 3 times to achieve the look I was aiming for Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: World Map, The Open Sea, Fine Feathers, Loving Thoughts Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Versamark Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Gold and Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Heat Gun (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart

Another Forgotten Card

Image
Here is another one of the cards I found when I was cleaning up my computer folders. It's one of a few I made at a papercraft club I attend. The technique was called Brushless Watercolour and was achieved by colouring a stamp with markers, spritzing it with water and then stamping onto paper. For my card I used the Serene Silhouettes - take a look The colours used are Gumball Green and Crushed Curry. I also added a little gold heat embossing too and I really wish I could remember the DSP I used but I'm sorry I can't be bothered to go into my study and find my catty to look it up - it's very very cold in there! Thanks for popping over to take a look at my blog today, I'm ashamed to say I have a few more 'forgotten' cards waiting to be blogged so please do come back to see them! Bye for now

Winter Blues at Less is More

Image
I cleared a small space in my craft room this morning and then filled it again making this card for this week's challenge over at  Less is More . A darker blue was used to stamp the reeds and the birds and then the sentiment. Materials - Stampin' Up Stamps: Wetlands, Loving Thoughts Ink: Soft Sky, Midnight Muse Card Stock: Naturals White (To order any of the above current items or items from the Annual Catalogue please e-mail me on deezinesart@gmail.com - a catalogue pdf can be found in the side bar. Forgotten Cards

Image
I was cleaning up some of the folders on my computer today and I have found some cards that were photographed but not blogged. They were some I made at a card workshop last year - take a look I love the monochrome tones of these cards expertly designed by  Jane Goldman  using the Happy Day stamp set. The subtle embossing and the cream lace ribbon also gives a lovely tactile feel to the cards and the vintage brads provide a great focal point. Hope you like them too - see you soon

Happy New Year

Image
Happy New Year to all my followers and visitors. As many of you know it has been a difficult year starting with the death of my my Grandpa, ending with my dad's intense cancer treatment and various emergencies with my husband I between. There have been many fun and happy times too and I spent Christmas with family and friends and no hospital visits!!! 2013 did leave with a sting it's tail however as my husband is being made redundant in the new year, still 2014 will be much better I'm sure especially as I have all you lovely bloggers out there leaving me all your fab comments. I shall sign off tonight with a photo I took of my kitty cat under the tree - he's been so good this year with not a bauble out of place!! He looked at me with those big yellow eyes as if to say 'I didn't knock anything off mummy - honest'!!
