Make My Monday - Pink and Black

Good morning - it's Monday and that means another challenge over on the Make My Monday challenge blog. This week Caz has chosen our theme and she wants to see cards or projects using the colours

Here is my card

I have used a stamp today that I have never used before (hanging my head in shame), what's more it's retired and unfortunately not available any more however, that's no reason not to use it!
It's from last year's Hostess selection 'Simply Soft'. the flower branches were stamped in black Stazon ink onto Rose card stock, the flowers were then coloured with a white gel pen - this gave them a lovely pale pink colour. The card was then mounted on to black and a sentiment added.

All materials are Stampin' Up
Stamps: Simply Soft (retired), Love and Sympathy
Ink: Black Stazon
Card Stock: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Basic Black
Accessories: White Gel Pen
(All Stampin' Up products can be ordered through me and delivered direct to your door - please see the top tabs - thank you).

I made my daughter very happy yesterday as I bought her the DVD Skyfall - she's been home form uni this weekend. My son also returned after a week away so I have had a full house and four for Sunday lunch - it was just like old times!

The big rose was stamped again - cut out and added using dimensionals.

Make My Monday - a bit late!

I'm a day late for this week's challenge at Make My Monday - I've been a little unwell but as I know of a couple of ladies who have far worse medical problems to cope with - I won't complain about a mere head cold.
This week's challenge is set set by Fliss and she has chosen the theme of 'Ribbons and Buttons' - here is my card

I have used the jeans from one of this year's Sale-a-bration sets - Patterned Occasions. I have also used my new 'Cloudy Day embossing folder. My ribbon is attached as a border with a flower with a button centre - I've tied the middle with some bakers twine.

The card I'm about to show you not only shows off the telescoping image  technique I used HERE but shows off my 'I just have to have it' stamp - take a look

Singin' in the Rain

I haven't joined in the challenges over on Less is More for ages now - today I am going to rectify this. The challenge is a One Layer Card on the subject of Music.
I have an old music stamp in my stash and I thought I would team it up with this lovely new set from Stampin' Up - Rain or Shine. It has lovely umbrellas and 3 rather nice sentiments. I just used on umbrella for this card though - take a look

To keep to the one layer rule - the umbrella was stamped first and covered with a post it note, the music was stamped over the top. A few rain drops were added over the umbrella.
Here is a close up

Materials
Stamps: Rain or Shine
Card Stock: Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Early Espresso, Black Stazon
Other: Music stamp, Post it notes.
(All Stampin' Up products listed above can be ordered through me and delivered direct to your door. For details please see the top tabs).

I was sifting through a load of photos on my camera and I found this one of my Mum and Dad's cat - she really cheered me up as I thought it looked like she was smiling!

See you soon - Jacqueline xx

MMM - Add a Charm

It's time for another challenge at Make My Monday and this week Suzi has chosen the theme and it is to 'Add a Charm'
Here is my card

After rootling around in my stash drawer I found this little feather charm and decided to base my card around that. Nature Walk and Fine Feathers worked perfectly don't you think? I kept my colour palette limited to just three colours and attached my charm to a neutral coloured ribbon.
Here is a close up

Materials
Stamps: Nature Walk, Fine feathers
Ink: Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake
Card Stock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake
(All items listed are Stampin' Up - for details on how to place an order please see the top tabs).

Hopefully you will be seeing this post at the correct time - we have been experiencing a few gremlins in our internet, it seems to have a mind of it's own and picks and chooses when it wants to work - very inconvenient!

Please do pop on over and take a look at the 'charming' cards made by the dt this week and I will see you soon - Jacqueline xx

MMM - Literary Inspiration

This week at Make My Monday Mynnette has chosen a book cover for a bit of Literary Inspiration - take a look

Now not being a lover of the classics (I know shame on me as my daughter would say!) I haven't a clue what this book is all about so at first glance my card may not seem to go with the pic at all

I have used a flourish stamp to echo the swirls in the dress and added some white punched flowers as they can be seen in the trees. A splash of yellow was added in the form of a couple of butterflies and my sentiment echos the book title quite nicely I think - do pop over to the blog as my team mates have made some stunning cards this week all of which do far better justice to the picture than mine.

Materials
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Made for You
Ink: Crumb Cake, Versamark
Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Paper: Subtles DSP
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones
Other: Label Die, Flower Punch, Butterfly Punch
(Please see the top tabs for all details on how to place a Stampin' Up order)

This is a scheduled post as I am away at the moment, please do forgive me for not commenting as promptly as I should - I hope to catch up later in the week - Jacqueline xx

This week it's Sketch week - take a look

For my card this week I have used some retired stamps and my Stampin' Write markers

Such a lovely set don't you agree? I decorated inside too - take a look

Materials
Stamps: Pines and Poinsettias (retired), Sassy Salutations
Ink: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade - all Stampin' Write Markers

I'm off now - visiting my Mum and Dad, they are finding it hard sorting and closing granddad's house so I am going to lend a hand. Granddad's ashes are also going to be interred while I'm there but - it won't be all sadness. It's Mum's birthday too so hopefully some good times too.

I can't wait to see what you do with Danielle's sketch and don't forget to pop on over and see what the DT have done this week too.
See you soon - Jacqueline xx
