Winter Blues

Good morning all I hope it's warm where you are 'cos this week at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown we have some very cool colours for you - take a look

I had great fun making this card as I used my favourite tool - the brayer. Brayering makes such lovely backgrounds but I just used it here to create the sky, the hills were created by sponging over torn copy paper.
After creating my main picture panel I mounted it on to Midnight Muse card stock which I had run through the Big Shot with a scallop edge die, this was mounted onto my card blank which had been stamped with the top of a fir tree stamp.
Now Ruth I know what you are going to say - no decoration inside! There is I promise you. This card (along with others) was made a few weeks ago just before I did a craft fair and I quickly photographed the fronts of the cards before packaging them up in their cellophane bags - completely forgetting the insides needed photo-ing too!

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Bells and Boughs
Ink: Midnight Muse, Bashful Blue
Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Accessories: Big Shot, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Basic Rhinestones

Whew - what a week it has been - headless chicken does not begin to describe it! I'm going to furnish my self with a huge vat of coffee later (not now as this post has been scheduled and it's only 6am!) and do some catching up - that is of course unless I'm disturbed by my daughter. She's off back to uni tomorrow following her Easter break and I'm sure she will want me to help with the packing not to mention last minute laundry rushes! No rest for the wicked eh?

    The wintry scene is fabulous! The tops of the trees stamped at the top and bottom of your card give it a lacy look that coordinates nicely with the vintage-style font of the sentiment.

I do love my nature stamps and I also love stamps of the sea whether it be above or below the waves. I have taken possession of a new set from the catalogue called Beauty of the Deep. Starting the Year with a Christmas Card

 I have decided to try and get on top of my Christmas cards early this year and so far it’s going well!!! Here is a card that has been made using the Sweet Gingerbread set - I love gingerbread houses and the stamps and matching dies are really cute. I used the sketch from  52 Christmas Card Throwdown  - this is a brilliant Christmas challenge blog (I started it many years ago with Mynn Kitchen) and it’s a perfect way to get organised with Christmas crafting. In The Frame.

Yesterday was birthday and my lovely husband bought me some crafting stash. Unfortunately he duplicated an ink pad (Distress Ink - Tea Dye) but the craft shop where he bought it were very kind and let me exchange it for something else. That something was a fab little Crafty Individuals stamp. So I raced home, turned my craft room upside down looking for my EZ Mount, and made this card for this week's Less is More  challenge. This week the girls wanted a one layer card with the theme 'In the Frame' Here is my card I made this by first masking off an area in the center of the card - directly on to a 5" x 5" white card blank. Then using my brayer I added some yellow, blue and green ink to the card. The masks were removed and the image was stamped over the brayered square.
